Moving update #2…

What a day!

We started early this morning with meeting up with two of my teens – Mark & Adam. They arrived at the church at 9:30 and we were off to pick up the washer and dryer that had been given to us. We found the house we were to pick it up from and eventually got them out and back over to the new place. A couple trips to Ace Hardware later, and we were washing and drying our first load of dirty rags! I hooked up my first-ever gas-dryer! Woo hoo!

A couple more trips after the washer and dryer install and the appliance guys arrived with a brand-new fridge and used stove (owned by our landlords). By now it was 4 in the afternoon and we still had some Wal-Mart shopping for tonight’s BOX Christmas party to do.

theBOX Christmas party was a blast tonight with 44 coming out tonight to celebrate together! We gave out some great gifts and had a good time fellowshipping together!

After theBOX, it was off to get some dinner @ Taco Bell. We made a quick stop at Wal-Mart tonight AGAIN to get some more plastic bins to get the rest of our belongings packed into. We’re now home and I’m about to turn off the computer and it won’t be turned on again until tomorrow sometime when Comcast comes by to hook us up.

Tomorrow should prove to be a pretty incredible adventure.

7AM will be here WAY to early!

Matisyahu’s video for “King Without A Crown” premiered today.

I love it.

So yesterday we took the infamous “first load” of items over to the new place. It was all the “storage shed” stuff: fishing poles, bicycles, lawn mower, horseshoe game set, potato gun, electric fans, and numerous “I probably shouldn’t have these” road signs.

This afternoon we will be taking our first “this belongs inside the house” loads over and attempt to decrease the amazing stack of boxes and plastic totes that litter our current living room.

Jess is such a trooper – she continues to pack as I continue to work here in the office.

On Thursday morning, it looks like 8-10 guys will be showing up to move the “heavy stuff”. Cable guy shows up anywhere from 1-5PM to get us back on-line.

This is the craziest thing I think we’ve ever attempted – moving in sub-arctic temperatures.

Staples has 5-packs of Sharpie Markers for only $1.94/ea with free shipping!

Today the 13-0 Colts fell to the 13-1 Colts via a 9-point defeat by the San Diego Chargers.

I take full responsibility for the Colts loss because I was too busy to sit and cheer them on this afternoon. I caught just the last 3-minutes of the game because I took the afternoon “off” and went sledding with Shawn French and his sons, Logan and Jake.

I’ll let the pictures do MOST of the talking:

Before I took the sled down the hill, this is what it looked like, except my sled was bright green:

After I finished the third run down the Madison ICE-hill, this is what my nice new Christmas-present-from-my-wife sled looked like:

I spent the rest of our hour-and-a-half sledding adventure nursing my “broken bottom” and impressing the Warsaw kids with a little coal-shovel sledding! They wanted to know “where I learned to do that” and I told them that “it’s all over the internet” and “I can’t believe you never heard of coal-shovel sledding”. I’m pretty sure they were impressed.

I think Shawn was a bit impressed, too.

My bottom hurts now.
