MOVIE REVIEW: “After The Sunset”

We were pretty tired when we entered Blockbuster to rent this one.

If we would’ve been “all there” we probably would’ve looked at the cover a little longer, read a little more about the plot and figured out that this is another “typical Hollywood” movie.

The plot is great, acting is excellent, direction is great, but the “Hollywood SEX” junk gets in the way. To be PG-13, apparently the only thing you CAN’T do is take off your underwear.

Numerous sexual references, homosexual references, and other inuendos are scattered through a plot about thievery – a plot that Jess and I both enjoy (Italian Job, Oceans 11, Oceans 12, etc).

Atleast once Jess and I looked at one another during this movie and made “I wish this wasn’t in this movie” facial expressions.

The “extra stuff” on the DVD proved entertaining, though some of it crude. This DVD includes the most exclusive behind-the-scenes feature of any movie that I’ve ever watched. We watched all 1-hour and 10-minutes of the feature and learned a LOT about what takes place behind the “real” cameras.

I’m DEFINITELY not impressed with the lifestyle and attitude of the director, Brett Ratner. His language, lifestyle, and attitude from just watching the behind-the-scenes interviews and footage make me want to vomit.

Watch with caution this PG-13 flick – if you watch it at all.
