Ladder 49 Movie Poster“Ladder 49” (PG-13) was an enjoyable Friday evening flick for my wife and I. We had heard about this movie from various media and were intrigued by a story of fireman from Baltimore.

The movie is gut-wrenching even for an emotion-less guy like myself. The plot itself is enough to keep anyone’s interest.

With renting the DVD, we were excited by the numerous “special features” that were available for our viewing pleasure on the disc. Realizing that most of the actors did their own stunt-work and trained as REAL firemen impacted us even more following seeing the movie itself!

I was impressed by the LACK of Computer Graphics in this movie – the fire is all real – and that is obvious.

A great story line, with typical Hollywood additions and subtractions make this movie enjoyable, but with the usual hinderances with lifestyle choices by key characters and language use throughout the film.
