Finally!

We’re safe in a sweet Country Inn & Suites somewhere outside of Cleveland tonight.

Snagging some wireless from ANOTHER hotel and I took a few minutes to put the first pictures from the weekend up on my Flickr account – check those out here.

It’s almost 8:30 (7:30AM in Indiana!) and we’re on our way out for breakfast with Aunt Bonnie & Uncle Abe. We’ll eat a wonderful breakfast, make a quick stop at “The Outhouse” (a novelty store in Lancaster that has quickly become a must-stop during any PA trip), and then head back to Hershey to do the “Chocolate World” experience we missed out on when we headed this way Thursday.

After Hershey we’ll drive until we can’t any longer and spend the night in a hotel somewhere in Ohio.

We’ll finish the trip on Sunday and be home sometime in the evening.

Yesterday was absolutely a WONDERFUL day – sorry about not posting any pictures yet – pray that our hotel has wireless! :)

Family visited:

Grandparents – amazing set of God-loving grandparents.
Aunt Lynn – visited her at the store (Miller’s Market) and enjoyed every minute of her!
Uncle Brian – visited at his apartment and former “Blue Mountain Fitness” center – he gave me another box of spicey beef jerky!
Uncle Glenn & Kim, Kim’s sons, and Glenn’s daughter – Caleigh – great visit with this family, too! We sat for a bit on the front porch watching the little trick-or-treaters coming up for some candy.

After our family-visits we headed to Carabba’s for dinner with Chris and Val. It was SO GOOD to be able to stop and spend some quality time with these two! We didn’t end up leaving Allentown until after 9:30 last night. We were here in Manheim by 11 and asleep soon after!

Another adventure-filled day today!

Jess and I drove all the way from Warsaw, IN to Manheim, PA today in less than 11-hours.

We stopped in Hershey – but too late in the afternoon to do the “Hershey Chocolate World” tour that we wanted to. We’ll go back there on Saturday before heading home-ish.

We did take time to walk around the Milton Hershey School – a place that my family vacationed at a lot when I was growing up. We enjoyed a walk around the lake and some conversations with the local squirrels. (yah, I’m that weird)

One “incident” on the road that’s worth mentioning:

Sometime around 3:30 Jess was sound asleep and a late-model car passed me just in time to take out a mature deer just 20-30 yards in front of me.

The deer landed directly in my path and my Indy-500 driving skills came in handy as my wife woke up wondering what in the world happened!

Next thing I know I’m looking in the rear-view mirror at a dead deer and a busted up vehicle on the side of the road. It was pretty intense for sure. Thank the Lord for His protection.

It is SO good to be here with Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Abe – safe and sound. Their house is so “welcoming”!

We got here in time to catch SURVIVOR and even though it’s just past 8 our time we’re actually thinking of heading to bed!

Tomorrow morning we’ll head to Danielsville for some great times with my Miller Grandparents. We will enjoy that time with them!

For dinner we’re meeting Chris Entrot and his girlfriend at Carabba’s in Allentown.

I’m typing this on my Aunt’s computer but before I go to bed I’ll see if there’s any local wireless signal so that I can upload some pictures of the day. Can you say, “flying deer”? (just kidding)

WE’RE ACTUALLY AWAKE!

THIS TRIP IS ACTUALLY GOING TO HAPPEN.

THIS IS TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE.

I’m tired. (stupid World Series and anxious “I can’t wait for tomorrow” sleeplessness)

I CAN’T WAIT TO GET ON THE INTERSTATE, EITHER!

Couple more things to pack, contacts to pop in, hair to brush, face to shave and then we’re on our way!

Congrats, Sox

White Sox schooled the Astros with a 4-0 World Series.

Nice job.

Now I can go to bed.

In the morning we will pack up and head to Pennsylvania!
