Jess and I drove all the way from Warsaw, IN to Manheim, PA today in less than 11-hours.
We stopped in Hershey – but too late in the afternoon to do the “Hershey Chocolate World” tour that we wanted to. We’ll go back there on Saturday before heading home-ish.
We did take time to walk around the Milton Hershey School – a place that my family vacationed at a lot when I was growing up. We enjoyed a walk around the lake and some conversations with the local squirrels. (yah, I’m that weird)
One “incident” on the road that’s worth mentioning:
Sometime around 3:30 Jess was sound asleep and a late-model car passed me just in time to take out a mature deer just 20-30 yards in front of me.
The deer landed directly in my path and my Indy-500 driving skills came in handy as my wife woke up wondering what in the world happened!
Next thing I know I’m looking in the rear-view mirror at a dead deer and a busted up vehicle on the side of the road. It was pretty intense for sure. Thank the Lord for His protection.
It is SO good to be here with Aunt Bonnie and Uncle Abe – safe and sound. Their house is so “welcoming”!
We got here in time to catch SURVIVOR and even though it’s just past 8 our time we’re actually thinking of heading to bed!
Tomorrow morning we’ll head to Danielsville for some great times with my Miller Grandparents. We will enjoy that time with them!
For dinner we’re meeting Chris Entrot and his girlfriend at Carabba’s in Allentown.
I’m typing this on my Aunt’s computer but before I go to bed I’ll see if there’s any local wireless signal so that I can upload some pictures of the day. Can you say, “flying deer”? (just kidding)
