Bradley Hathaway

Last night was QUITE the experience.

Imagine Stevan and his beautiful wife going to a show with 30-40 “hardcore teens” and four “harcore” bands.

“Hardcore” = a band in which only SCREAMING AT THE TOP OF THEIR LUNGS HAPPENS.

Sure we were a bit “out of place” – ask me about the girl that turned to me after Hardcore Band #1 finished their set and said in her “sweet little” voice, “you like hardcore?”

Ouch.

My only response: “don’t I look like it?”

She quickly turned away to avoid further embarrassing me.

Kory and Magee arrived safely after band #2 and we all enjoyed Bradley Hathaway (the poet) very much.

We headed home, popped in Batman Begins and Kory and Magee fell asleep soon after Jess.

I finished the movie – tucked them all in and went to bed myself.

This morning we woke up to the smell of bacon, eggs, and pancakes being cooked by my loving wife.

Wonderful!

This morning, Mr. Danny Carter – husband of our senior adult ministries pastor, Wanda Carter, on staff with us here at Warsaw Wesleyan went home to be with the Lord.

Please join our church family in prayer for this family during this grieving time.

With Kory Pence and Chris Magee spending the weekend here with the Sheets’ at the ‘ol homestead, I did some “clean-up duty” today on my day off. It’s good to clean – except for the overwhelming bleach-smell burning all of the inside of my nose…

Tonight Jess and I had dinner with Dan Freeman at church. We “started” dinner at the local Pizza King but in about 30-minutes smoke began to fill the dining room and the unique smell of burnt bread hurried to our table.

Moments later we were told that their oven went “ka-poo-ey”.

We left and went to the local Pizza Hut instead. A MUCH better choice!

Dan advised me to make it known that I personally had NOTHING to do with the “exploding” oven – even though I was in the restaurant at the time of its demise. He’s my witness!

Tomorrow will be a busy day in the office and then Jess and I will be joining (hopefully) John Bryan and Alyssa Lowe for an evening in Ft. Wayne – the ladies will enjoy coffee and shopping (?) and the boys will meet up with Kory and Magee at the Bradley Hathaway show at the old Ekrich Hot Dog factory!

Should be a fun night!

The “boys” (Magee and Kory) are staying for the weekend – so who knows what adventure will take place.

Also – rumor has it that a certain Pate family is a mere 2-hours away from our present location and we may possibly gravitate towards a neutral location sometime this weekend.

Survivor, CSI, and Without A Trace were ALL great tonight. I love Thursday night television!
