Ella Marie Sheets was born on April 23, 2006 at 11:24PM at the Kosciusko Community Hospital. She weighed in at 8lbs., 3ounces and she was 20.5 inches long!

She’s beautiful.
She’s a miracle.
She’s an absolute blessing from the Lord!

You’ve been waiting. We’ve been waiting. Finally, the wait is over!

Mom and Baby are absolutely terrific.

Jess did have to have Ella via emergency c-section (thank you for praying!). After some initial complications, everything is absolutely fantastic.

Ella is a happy-sleeper. She’s so “content”, I guess. Jess is doing wonderful at providing nutrition for her new baby girl. We are both so thrilled with our bundle of God-blessed baby!

Water Broke!

On our way to the hospital!

This afternoon, to help pass the “we’re having a baby, just not right now” time, Jess and I took in a matinee of “The Sentinel”.

We enjoyed the movie, though the plot didn’t twist like I personally hoped it would. I’m always disappointed when I come up with the “answer” to the “problem” in a movie plot and then find out that I was right. I’d rather have my suspicions and then get “proved wrong” in some huge plot-twist at the end of the movie.

Acting-wise it was weird to see Michael Douglas in a movie about the President and NOT be the President. Even Miss Longoria does an “okay” job in her first movie-role. Kiefer Sutherland also does his role well.

The movie made me want to study a bit more about what the Secret Service is all about. I’d like to know what we’re “allowed” to know about what they do and don’t do – and whether there are really 6+ snipers on top of the White House at all times??

The Lord’s name is sadly abused over and over again throughout the movie – with a curious absense of “other” casual slang.

The movie did it’s job of keeping us interested – it at least kept Jess focused on a plot rather than the every 10-minute contractions!

I was so hoping for a water-breakage at the theater story, though.

Yep.

Jess exclaimed numerous times today, “I’m BORED!” as she continues to monitor her 10-minute-apart contractions. She finally said, “Is there any movie out that we want to see?”

I literally laughed, thinking she was joking, but knowing that deep down I would LOVE to go to the movies.

I told her the couple of movies we were wanting to see that were currently in theaters and she plugged in her hot rollers to do her hair!

So, we’re on our way to see “The Sentinel” this afternoon here in town and I just have this recurring thought of just how cool it would be to tell the theater manager, “I’m sorry about the wet seat!” as we ran out to head to the hospital.

Thank you for those who continue to check in here at stevansheets.com to get the latest updates on our very own “Baby Story”! We’ll continue to keep you updated!

No news, yet..

Contractions continue to disrupt my wife’s life. (and mine when she grunts)

Doctor’s visit this morning gave us the same 1 centimeter, 70% effacement news.

The visit ALSO gave us the news, however, that Jess is no longer able to go back to school to work.

This, of course, saddens her.

We are thankful, though, that since she has been “taking it easier” here at home, she has lost 4 pounds due to the intense swelling that is now mostly gone.

We are anticipating the hospital-run anytime!
