MOVIE REVIEW: “The Sentinel” (PG-13)

This afternoon, to help pass the “we’re having a baby, just not right now” time, Jess and I took in a matinee of “The Sentinel”.

We enjoyed the movie, though the plot didn’t twist like I personally hoped it would. I’m always disappointed when I come up with the “answer” to the “problem” in a movie plot and then find out that I was right. I’d rather have my suspicions and then get “proved wrong” in some huge plot-twist at the end of the movie.

Acting-wise it was weird to see Michael Douglas in a movie about the President and NOT be the President. Even Miss Longoria does an “okay” job in her first movie-role. Kiefer Sutherland also does his role well.

The movie made me want to study a bit more about what the Secret Service is all about. I’d like to know what we’re “allowed” to know about what they do and don’t do – and whether there are really 6+ snipers on top of the White House at all times??

The Lord’s name is sadly abused over and over again throughout the movie – with a curious absense of “other” casual slang.

The movie did it’s job of keeping us interested – it at least kept Jess focused on a plot rather than the every 10-minute contractions!

I was so hoping for a water-breakage at the theater story, though.
