Archives For Linkage

Brock Gill, probably my favorite Christian Illusionist is apparently auditioning for the History Channel show, “Top Shot“.

If the description of this video is correct, it was shot and edited in one day – very impressive if you ask me.

I love what Brock says he plans to do with the prize money should he be on the show and win. He plans to help build an orphanage with Project: AK-47.

Two guys, a couple of cellos, a sweet piano, some awesome audio-tech and an obvious passion for music = this awesome video:

At about 1:30 I nearly jumped out of my seat. I LOVE when musicians find sounds from abnormal locations.

Francis Chan is releasing a book, “Erasing Hell” (available in July) and he’s asking us to pray for him:

Isaiah 55:8,9 –
8 “For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the LORD.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

In this video, Francis Chan wisely reminds us,

“When we make statements like, “Well, God wouldn’t do this would he?”
At that moment you’re actually putting God’s actions in submission to your reasoning.”

Thinking about sending one of these shirts to President Obama after yesterday’s speech.

Isaiah 62:1-3 (NLT)
Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. The nations will see your righteousness. World leaders will be blinded by your glory. And you will be given a new name by the Lord’s own mouth. The Lord will hold you in his hand for all to see—a splendid crown in the hand of God.

I Doubt It

Do you ever find yourself doubting? Doubting yourself, your abilities, your beliefs?

I think if we’re honest we would all admit the occasional ’bout with doubt’.

One of my favorite “testimonies” of dealing-with-doubt comes from my good friend Scott Troyer who wrote a song about it. I love this song and find myself listening to it a few times each week:

If you want to read the lyrics while listening:

If ever in doubt, if ever in pain,
if ever in love you lose your way,

I’ll be your Northern Star
and your constellation that guides you home.

If ever at night or during the day
you feel your heart giving way.

I’ll be your Northern Star
and your constellation that guides you home.

So, don’t fear the night.
Just look to the skies,
find the brightest stars
and think of my eyes
watching you float on.

If ever it seems like I’m not around
just wait ’til you’re alone and then and there I’m found.

I’ll be your Northern Star
and your constellation that guides you home.

So, don’t fear the night.
Just look to the skies,
find the brightest stars
and think of my eyes
watching you float on.
