So this afternoon we had our latest Dr.’s visit. Everything went VERY smoothly until the very end of the visit when I saw a sight that confused the daylights out of me.

On one of the tables with some sort of print-out machine in the Dr.’s office we saw two spoons. Spoons? Yes, spoons. Check ’em out:

Interesting, isn’t it? Can someone tell me what they were doing there? Did the Dr. and a nurse enjoy two Snack Packs and forget to take back their spoons? Do they use these as some sort of torture device? Does the Doctor eventually teach us how to feed our baby with a large spoon? WHY ARE THERE SPOONS ON THE TABLE IN THE DOCTOR’S OFFICE? I may never know.

After our Dr.’s visit, we headed up to Syracuse for dinner with my brother Craig Helfrich. Craig lives in his Aunt and Uncle’s “summer home” on Lake Wawasee:

It’s a beautiful home and I will be spending a lot of my summer there boating and jet-skiing for sure.

After a quick house-tour, we headed to Pete’s Famous Fish

At Pete’s, you’ll never guess what we ate!

The fish was great, however, there was this odd-looking veluptuous woman staring at us the entire meal:

She was quite distracting, but the waitress assured me that she had already spoken to management about her veluptuous-ness and there was nothing she could do about it.

After dinner we headed back to Craig’s place for some relaxing and enjoying of the Hillsong United “Look To You” DVD. Very fun.

Does anyone have one of these in a basement or attic somewhere that would be willing to GIVE it away (I’d pay for shipping!)

Today I “caught the bug” after seeing the old 8-bit Nintendo in one of my buddy’s youth rooms and I just think it would be incredible to get my hands on an 8-bit Nintendo system again.

Anyone?

theBOX, tonight

We had a great youth service tonight. We studied 1 Peter 3:13-18 and I encouraged our students NOT to fall into the “old school” way of thinking that after every “spiritual high” there is always a tremendous “spiritual low” lurking just around the corner. I’m tired of the consistent thought that being a Christian is such a tough life that seems to be so focused on how difficult life is – if we truly believe that we have a relationship with The Almighty Creator (an unfathomable privilege), why do many Christians look/act as if they will never experience true joy?

After the service we had two more of our teens accept the EAT THE WORD campaign and sign rocks and place them on the altar!

Of course with every great youth service comes a great pre-serious-time “game”.

WARNING: this video is NOT for you if you adhere to ANY of the following:
1 – you dislike bare feet
2 – you dislike tongues
3 – you can’t imagine a game involving bare feet and/or a tongue in a youth group setting
4 – you would rather not see a teen lick a toe for $5

Today our newly rented house underwent a MAJOR upgrade!

NEW WINDOWS in both bedrooms, the dining room, and a HUGE living room picture window!

Photoset of the install is here.

Of course I filmed “Rich” and “Chris” taking out the old picture window just incase (hopefully?) we had a large shattered mess!

After what seemed like another Fall Season, it has FINALLY started to snow again here in Warsaw, Indiana!

It began during board meeting tonight and I could just about do a full 360-donut in the parking lot as I left shortly after 9PM.

I will begin the prayer-fast this evening that focuses on asking the Lord for atleast 16-feet of the stuff before daybreak!

I WANNA GO SLEDDING! (this time without my cheap, plastic sled – but with an ENORMOUS tire innertube given to me by my brother, Kirkage!)

Help me in my prayers for snow!

I know this should get it’s own post, but I will slip it in here at the end of my “snow post”:

On Sunday afternoon I felt our baby do a bit of a “flutter” in my wife’s tummy! Yes that’s right – Jess said, “the baby is moving” and that caused me to attempt to “feel” this movement instead of only ever hearing about it.. So I touched “the spot” where the movement was on the inside and felt “something” there on the outside!

Does anyone else think it absolutely INSANE that in just 3-ish months I will be the father of said “fluttering baby”?!

Pass the Imodium, please.
