Another day of feeling better is under my belt.

Tonight I even ate “real” food! Macaroni and cheese!

Sadly, I was not able to join our 24 students at the District Lock-Out tonight in Ft. Wayne. Thankfully I have some great sponsors who are enduring that all-night event without me this evening and into tomorrow morning. It is great to serve with some of the world’s greatest people!

Tomorrow I may venture outdoors – something I haven’t done in quite some time.

Mom Garrett came today to help Jess with the baby’s room. They arranged things very well and put things away – now all that needs to be done is me taking the futon out of that room and down to the basement. If I had all of my strength, I would’ve tried it today. Maybe tomorrow I can take it apart and take it downstairs… That’s the plan.

Today has been another “I know I’m getting better” day, though Jess is suffering with a bit of a sore throat now. Not good.

Feeling better, I finally took some more time to get “caught up” on e-mail and web-surfing as well as cleaning out my digital camera of some digital-goodness.

Last week, on Thursday, Jess and I enjoyed a superb meal and fellowship with Thomas Hall & Bethany Kinney in the Marion home of Rev. Bill & June Kinnan. These two welcomed us into their home with open arms:

After our meal, we found ourselves in the living room spending time singing together around the piano. Great times and some of them are now being shared with the general public:

We also enjoyed the calm presence of both Pastor Bill and Miss June – even some teaching-time with Pastor Bill, captured here:

After our late-evening at the Kinnans, we met up with “Professor” Pence after his night class at IWU and enjoyed a quick visit with him at the Tree of Life bookstore:

I’m not dead.

Contrary to popular belief (and the way I’ve felt over the last 5-days) – I’M NOT DEAD.

Sure my throat is still “tender” (by “tender” I mean that I feel as though I have to swallow through two tennis balls each time I swallow), my stomach is still “upset” (by “upset” I mean – you should’ve seen me hurl in the Doctor’s office sink on Monday!), my ears still feel “full” (by “full” I mean that I would probably be a dozen pounds lighter if the junk in my ears was no longer with me.)

But – after all of those “symptoms” and Doctor’s diagnosis of the “big three”: bronchitis, pharyngitis (what is this?), and now tonsilitis – I am beginning to feel better!

Seriously – after these numerous days of little more than watching the Spanish daytime soap operas (kidding!) and sleeping on the too-short-for-Stevan couch, I am finally finding myself sitting at the desk and typing away at the keyboard!

Sure I’m coughing up a “friend” every now and then, but who doesn’t need a friend to watch float down the sink every once-in-a-while (the mental picture there is something, isn’t it?)

So, please keep praying for “Sick Stevan” and PLEASE keep praying for his wonderful wife, Jessica and their baby who are both doing marvelously!

Back to the couch…

No, we don’t have water breakage yet. We did, however spend a little time at the hospital. Diagnosis: Stevan has bronchitis. Remedy – antibiotics, Vicodin, and plenty of rest.

Seriously, Stevan is “down for the count” this time with bronchitis and pharyngitis. The drugs are doing their job, however, and Stevan is resting well. Sadly, he has been ordered NOT to attend services at church tomorrow. Thankfully there were plenty of helpful Warsaw Wesleyan’s to pick up the slack!

Jess is absolutely amazing – taking care of her sickly husband while carrying their baby as well!

Pray for both of us!

Happy April Fool’s Day! (be sure to read this post in Microsoft’s Internet Explorer to “get” the joke.)

Woke up this morning and did a bit of work on my water-rocket. I attached cardboard fins to attempt to make the rocket a bit more stable in-flight. I went outside and attempted to try my new rocket-fins. I accidentally dropped the rocket “gently” on the ground and 2 of the fins came off instantly. Attempt: failed.

For lunch I met my buddy Chad Stiver for lunch at the Brown Bag Deli in downtown Warsaw. We went up to the storefront and tried the door only to find it closed for the day. Bummer. We then decided to try downtown Warsaw’s newest selection – The Mad Anthony Brewing Company. I had a great Mushroom & Swiss burger there. The price was comparable to the Boathouse in Winona Lake. The service was GREAT.

After lunch we headed off to “Little Bighorn” golf club to hit a bucket of balls on the driving range. I got a chance to use my new-to-me clubs that Dad Garrett gave me a few months ago when he upgraded! I like them, and I think the clubs like me back!

Tonight Jess and I are heading to Marion for dinner with Pastor Bill & June Kinnan. They have invited us along with Thomas (worship leader) and his girlfriend, Bethany for dinner at their home tonight. We’re also attempting to hook up with my brother Kory Pence after supper for some coffee at Tree of Life!
