It’s Monday

6.12.2006 — 2 Comments

I could tell that it was Monday all day long today.

I didn’t want to get out of bed. I didn’t want to take a lunch break. I didn’t want to come home (too much to do).

It was even a rough day for Ella, too. She’s not been the happiest camper today:

She’s doing better tonight, but for some reason this afternoon she just wasn’t in the best mood. We’d change her, feed her, we’d walk with her, talk to her, we tried the swing, we tried the bouncy seat, we tried EVERYTHING – and she’d be good for a few minutes and then remember how much fun it was to cry and she started doing that again.

Right now she’s finishing off her late-night snack and we’ll all be off to bed very shortly.

Had a great Bible Study tonight with the guys at Hacienda. It’s so cool that we’ve all been able to keep up in our weekly readings through the Bible. We’ll be done sometime in October – a mere 4-months away! Next week we’re taking a science-experiment-break afterwards to attempt the Diet Cola and Mentos trick that we’ve all seen videos of.

Should be good fun!

In the morning I will join a handful of other men at Pastor Janofski’s new home for a workday. I think we’ll be doing a lot of painting. Pictures will be taken I’m sure!

Death by Ministry

Disney does it again with “Glory Road”, the latest DVD to make its way to the Sheets’ family collection!

Numerous times tonight as we watched, Jess and I both exclaimed how much we were enjoying this movie. The storyline is VERY similar to “Remember the Titans” of 2000, though the game is different. Also in this movie there is less character-study done on each player than in Titans. I think more emphasis is played on Coash Haskins.

The family-friendly production that this film is makes it worth owning for any family! And of course there is plenty of “that was a cool shot” basketball footage for the sports fanatic!

“Bleh!”

Jess and I were both disappointed with our Thursday night rental, “Firewall” with Harrison Ford. We expected greatness from Indiana Jones, but were left with a bad taste in our mouths due to a typical plot, terrible writing, and many, many missuses of our Lord’s name.

About halfway through the movie, Jess said, “This is written badly!”

Sadly, I was still trying to find something worth enjoying from the movie at that point and didn’t agree with her until the end when all was said and done. We were actually glad the movie was over and didn’t even attempt any of the special features included on the disc.

I guess we’ll always have the Internet Movie Database’s goof’s to read-through and enjoy.

Don’t rent this one.
