Happy Thanksgiving!
I’m thankful for the following (but not limited to) things: God, my wife, my daughter, my parents, my in-laws, my sister, our house, my computer, the shoes I wore today, the table I’m sitting at, my digital camera, wireless internet, the internet period, the lights in our living room, our Christmas tree, our front door – it’s purple, our minivan, Warsaw Wesleyan Church, the church staff, my senior pastor, my friends, my Monday night Bible study (yes, they’re my friends too), my music collection, my r/c toys, my garage/carport, the brain God gave me, my sense of humor, Thursdays, Taco Bell, the smell of grape, the Word of God, my checking account, the nice lady at the bank today, the Indianapolis Colts, the Carolina Panthers, Peyton Manning, Mt. Dew, chocolate oranges, Oreo cookies, Pizza Hut pizza (buffalo chicken, especially), ice-cold water, my water-filter, our refrigerator, our stove, microwave, dual-sinks, the toilet!, a shower, CLR (Calcium, Lime & Rust remover), our clear shower curtain (wink, wink), cashews, blankets, my two pillows, toothpaste, my razor, locks on doors, contact lenses, wall-decor, pictures of my life, memories that will always remain, carpet beneath my bare feet right now, our vacuum, my lawn mower/therapeutic machine, my garden that will live once again, cell phones (sometimes), our house phone (sometimes), Ella’s smile, Jess’ touch, God’s love, snow, rain, sunshine, wind, thunderstorms, theBOX, the chair I’m sitting in, the clothes I’m wearing, boxers, television, our free newspaper that continually piles up on the front porch, doorbells, gasoline, mechanics, all people who know more than I do, our imperfect government, the President of the United States, the United States, our military men and women, those in authority over me, those who I shepherd, driving in the car, my ears, my nose, my mouth, the feeling in my fingers, the fact that I can type, my wedding ring, the sweet scar (memory) on my left middle finger, the jobs I’ve had, the bosses I’ve had, the lessons I’ve learned, the ideas I’ve come up with, my dreams, my goals, Applebee’s, DiGiorno Pizza, coffee (with cream and sugar), Starbucks Mochas, my tools, the ability to use tools, our basement.
That was fun.
Your turn.
8-9PM – NCIS
Great episode, I knew Magee’s sister was being framed from the moment we met her. Very upset with Director Shepherd’s advice to Tony that if he and his girlfriend are attracted to each other that they should “get it on”.
9-10PM – The Unit
Once again, this is one of the highest-stress shows I’ve ever watched. Tonight’s episode was disturbing because of some “suggested” military-induced infidelity. The very end, however, attempted to show the true love between a man and his wife and gave redemption to our favorite character.
10-11PM – 3lbs.
This show is currently messing with my brain – pun intended. If you haven’t watched this show yet, try to next week! Sadly, it’s another show that promotes casual sex lifestyles, which made its way to the screen on only its second episode. The opening sequence in the first two episodes is well-done and the character-studies continue to give us “just enough” information to keep us guessing. The main doctor’s apparitions and nervous tick lead us to believe he may have to do his own brain surgery in an upcoming episode.
11-12PM – goodnight.
So it’s been a few days since the ‘ol stevansheets.com has been updated. We’ve been busy AND the digital camera has been “down” (so is the Neon, by the way). Today I finally got a new media card for the camera so we’ll be snapping away again.
Also today I met with our Indiana North District Youth Cabinet in Marion where we decided that our District Ski Retreat will NOT be happening this year. This is both bad and good – bad that we have to contact everyone and let them know that we’re not having a ski retreat and also bad that we won’t get to “hit to the slopes” – it’s good, because now we may get to spend a few extra days in PA with my folks for Christmas because of this event being dropped. We’ll be working on those details this week.
Speaking of this week… Sheesh, what a week it will be! Sherilyn arrives on Wednesday from Chi-town. We head to Bluffton on Thursday morning-ish and we’ll be back in Warsaw on Friday afternoon in time for our play-practice. Sherilyn heads home sometime on Saturday.
My daughter is calling for me while she is sitting on the floor just feet away from me. I must attend to her and play!
