Archives For General

Took some time this afternoon to upload my Haiti pictures. I also took some time to convert some of my favorites into black and white and uploaded them under their own photoset. Click the mosaic below to view the whole set.

Home From Haiti!

I arrived at our Clark Street home and fell into the loving arms of my wife sometime after 1:30AM!

Thank you for all who prayed for our Mission Team while we were away from our families.

The trip was an amazing, life-changing experience – please excuse the lack-of-depth-update as I attempt to debrief myself on what all took place in the last 9-days of my life. Pictures and video clips WILL follow.

February 9th – leave day.

I have no idea what to expect on this day. I don’t know flight times or anything like that – I’m relying on our team leaders for that knowledge!

Apparently we’ll be back in Indianapolis sometime late-evening. Hopefully back in Warsaw before midnight.

I can’t wait to see my wife and daughter who I’ve thought about nonstop since leaving them in Warsaw. I know my inlaws have taken great care of them in Bluffton while I’ve been away!

Ella is probably walking and talking by now and maybe even doing long-division.

Oh dear.

It’s Thursday.

I’m sure we’ll take today to finish up the unfinished projects we’ve been working on this week in Haiti. Maybe we’ll have a chance to head to the beach today? I have no idea what we’ll be doing!

I’m sure we’re preparing ourselves for the reintroducing ourselves to the US culture-shock and are trying to get our belongings packed back up and any treasures we’ve accumulated packed safely amongst our dirty clothes!

I know by now I will have been schooled by the Haitian kids on the basketball court that we’ve heard about. I’m sure I will have memories that will last forever!

Pray for our trip home tomorrow.

I’m leading the team devotions tonight – I’m planning on preparing communion for us to share together. I hope I can find some grape juice and a loaf of bread on the island without too much trouble.

Wednesday, February 7th already?!

By now my e-mail inbox is overflowing with messages that I probably won’t want to wade through when I return in just two days.

Hopefully these “daily posts” have provided somewhat of a stability to the stevansheets.com daily “need” you have…

Tonight two of my sponsors are providing leadership of theBOX, Dan Warren is giving his testimony and Mark Alber will be the upfront guy to get things going. theBOX Praise Band will rock the house and hopefully the group will take time to pray for their “million-miles-away-youth-pastor” while he is in Haiti (hint, hint).

Tomorrow is our last day on this little Island that I’ve come to know as “home” for the past few days. I can’t imagine NOT wanting to go back home, but I’m sure the feelings of leaving this place and these people will be unusual.
