Just got an e-mail from my buddy Jason who included the location of my ticketed seat at the Brewers vs. Phillies game I’ll be attending on April 24th! This is my first Brewers game AND I’ll be sitting in one of the best seats I’ve ever sat in for any MLB game I’ve been to! Check it out:

Shout to the Lord

So apparently on American Idol this week, the finalists all sang, “Shout To The Lord” at the closing of the show. If you didn’t see it, here’s the YouTube cut:

As I sing the song, the first line says, “My JESUS, My Savior”; as THEY sing the song, they sung “My SHEPHERD, my Savior”…

Yup, “Jesus” is still offensive!

Had an interesting conversation today at lunch about the role of the church. The conversation revolved around the subject of churches that would label themselves as “seeker sensitive” are misrepresenting the nature of what “The Church” is to be about while we await the return of Christ.

I would dare to say that ‘much’ of The Church (including those considered “Seeker Sensitive”) do a great job at welcoming seekers, but shouldn’t our priority be SEEKING the “Seeker”? As in, going out and reaching he-or-she that may be open to the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Why is much of The Church serving as a giant Country Club for Christians instead of being the hands and feet of Christ living out the Great Commission in the world?
