Pre-service countdown

Service doesn’t start for another 2-hours and yet I find myself here in my office reading through my notes, calming myself (by drinking Mt. Dew at 8AM?), and spending some quiet moments with the Lord. As I walked up the hill to our church I noticed our tent that is set up for today’s service was closer to the ground than the way it should be set-up. Apparently while I was “out cold” from one of the craziest weekends of my life last night Mukwonago experienced a pretty big storm. There are guys attempting to reset the rented tent currently before our service begins this morning – thank God for volunteers!

We did arrive home safe and sound just after Midnight last night. Our new record, then from Warsaw-to-Mukwonago is a mere 4-hours. We stopped only one time to grab some much-needed Mt. Dew and beef jerky (one of those God-created combos that just works). We unloaded the van and went to bed as fast as we could.

Thomas and Bethany’s wedding was beautiful – I was absolutely honored to have been a part of their special day – and Jess was Bethany’s right-hand-woman all day Saturday to help with any last-minute details and to keep Bethany focused on the day, not the details!

It was good to see some of our Warsaw family and to know that Ella was in such good hands with ‘Momma & Papa’ Sweeny all day relieved so much stress for us too!

I will preach in 2-hours, enjoy a picnic with our church family, attempt to close my eyes for an hour-or-so this afternoon and then enjoy our youth meeting tonight.

I can “crash” tomorrow. I’m pretty sure I’ll need to.

So glad you made it home safely. Whoa-in 4 hours? My goodness, let me know your secret passage, so I can use it when I come in a couple weeks!

Thank you for allowing me to come and see you and babysit Ella on Friday evening, even if it were just for a couple hours. I would have made the trip from Bluffton even if the time spent with Ella would have been for 10 minutes! THANK YOU

    Love you all three,
    MOM Garrett
