Tomorrow I will be shot.

Tomorrow morning at approximately 8:30AM, I will be taken to the Kosciusko County Health Clinic and I will be shot.

I will be shot with a Hepatitis B injection, a Polio injection, and a Tetanus injection.

Doesn’t that sound splendid?

I will be shot with such injections for an upcoming trip I will be taking to the country of Haiti:

Yes that’s right, yours truly will be joining a group from our church for a week-long mission trip to Haiti in February!

I can’t wait!

What I CAN wait for is the sore arm that I will no-doubt have tomorrow.

These shots ARE going in my arm, right?

(incidentally, my 6-month-old daughter will also be having some shots tomorrow – not because she’s going to Haiti, but because she’s growing up!)

  1. You and Ella need to both take some Tylenol 30 minutes before you face the firing squad. It will help ease the pain. Good luck!! Better make sure you are wearing clean underwear, just in case :-)

  2. My question is: Who’s going to cry more, you or Ella?

  3. Cressalyn wants you to know that shots are a piece of cake! She gets one in each arm every Friday! You’re tough! Take it like a man!

  4. Both took their shots well. Ella only after being poked and instantly quit when Daddy picked her up. I was proud of both of them.

  5. cried (the word I forgot to insert)

So proud of Ella! She has such comforting confidence in her daddy’s arms … how wonderful!

An on the info from Jessica, I am so proud of Ella for becoming such a good vegetable and fruit eating girl!!

Stevan, we are pleased you are going to help in Haiti! I know you well, so I knew you would do well with your shots! Now just rub, rub, rub!!!

    We are missing you all!

    What are Ella’s stats?

actually, I imagine the one who wanted to cry first was mommy, wife (Jessica) as she watched the shots being given. But Jess, at least you are no longer fainting when watching a shot being given. (like she did in high school when having blood drawn on herself) Becoming a mommy makes you stronger!!

Oh, and Stevan, so excited for you to be going to Haiti on missions trip. (I went to Haiti when I was 16 on a missions trip. It was a life changing experience. Will be praying for you and all the details to come.

My first years of remembering came from Haiti. I lived there for 4 years with my parents from ages 3-7 and I have very fond memories. We were at Petite Guauve with Mae and Mary who were both nurses for God. Henry Ortlip was at Port-Au-Prince. It’s where I started according to my brain and my thermometer is messed up for life. I love heat. The people in Haiti when I was there were very open and willing for whatever God had for them because the alternative was devil worship and bondage. I love Haiti, always will. Call me changed if you will, but we as Americans have absolutely no idea what sacrifice is. You’ll love it!
