Update from PA

Jess and I find ourselves at “Brewers Caffe” in Selinsgroves, PA. They have free wireless Internet (if you’re ever in need).

We arrived safe and sound with my sister Sherilyn on Sunday night just before midnight. The drive took us nearly 12-hours, but it was worth it to be here with the family.

Monday morning we headed to Allentown – where my Grandparents live. We were able to spend time with the family there for most of the afternoon. Grandma was in GREAT spirits and was so glad to get to meet Ella. Here is a picture of their first-ever meeting:

It was such a joy to see Grandma enjoying Ella and vice-versa. Grandma continually said, “I’m so glad I got to hold you before I go.” and similar phrases that, of course, brought tears to eyes around the house.

Grandma’s lungs continue to fill with fluid as she nears the end of life. We continue to wait patiently for Grandma’s home-going and we continue to play this trip to PA by ear, ready to stay for a funeral if the Lord chooses to take her home before our return-trip on Friday and Saturday.

Thank you for the constant prayers for our family as we continue to trust the Lord in this situation!
