Thursday Evening Life Update

9.21.2006 — 3 Comments

Last night (Wednesday) we had a record-crowd at theBOX. We crammed 76 people into theBOX last night – it was a tight fit, but we managed to make it through the evening. My voice was almost completely gone by the end of the evening and a doctor’s visit today leaves me with the diagnosis of bronchitis. Great.

The doctor’s bill, 3 prescriptions and one over-the-counter also left us looking in the sofa for extra coinage. Ouch.

My back, as some of you know, has been quite out of whack for the last few months, too – and today I was prescribed some take-as-you-need-them muscle relaxers as well as some pain medicine, so hopefully I’m on the way to recovery.

I will also be on the look-out for a local chiropractor to take a look at the mess that is going on in my upper back. I’d like to find a chiropractor that is cheap enough that I won’t have to sell everything we own to go to.

Tonight my buddy Gabe called me and I met him at the church to unload a dozen hay bales into the foyer! Round Up Sunday is happening this weekend – and I’m on the “decoration committee” to make the sanctuary fit that “country/western” theme! I’m also singing in a quartet this weekend. It should be quite the interesting weekend.

Tomorrow the Sheets head to Bluffton for the night. We’ll enjoy dinner with the in-laws and then the Bluffton Street Fair on Saturday.

Next week is Sherilyn’s birthday and we’re taking a day off and heading up to Chicago to celebrate with her. Mom and Dad are also heading over there on Thursday – so it will be a good time as a family! On Sunday we are publicly dedicating Ella to the Lord in our morning worship service. As far as we’re concerned – if you’re reading this announcment, you’re invited! My grandparents are flying in from North Carolina, my folks will be here from PA, and my sister from Chicago as well as Jess’ family from Bluffton including grandparents will all be present for our special occasion!

  1. Hi..
I know that my mom goes to a wonderful chiropractor in Goshen. He is very cheap and very nice. The staff is wonderful she says.
    Hope you get feeling better.
I wish I could be there on Sunday to see the country and western morning. I would have loved to sang that morning since I am a “country girl!!!”
Miss everyone at the church. we have been attending Brookside Church. Take care.

  2. Man! This is when I hate being miles apart! I know that the time with everyone for Ella’s dedication will be a great one! Can’t wait for the photos!

  3. Stevan,
Go to the place in Goshen…it’s a little bit of a drive, but the difference in cost is way worth it…I think it’s like 20 bucks a visit…the first one may be a bit more because of the xray, I can’t remember…only would be a few dollars, if so. It is a bit “old fashioned” looking but they’re good at the job, which is why you go. I think it’s called the back and spine center or something like that…
