Good times were had by all 49 that attended tonight’s event. 49 is the record for our Summer Road Trip attendance!

I think the students are getting excited about our Fall Kick Off (September 6th) and are attempting to invite their friends to the remaining Road Trips in order to have them attend the Kick Off. They’ve been challenged (by their idiotic youth pastor) to have 100 students (7th-12th grade) attend our Kick Off. If we have 100 students, I have agreed to shave my head bald. Yes, that is correct – I’m going “old school” this year and bribing my kids to bring their friends to our outreach event and I’m willing to do something absurd to get it to happen. I’m secretly praying for 99 students, actually – but don’t tell that to my teens. And just to make this absolutely clear – I will NOT be shaving my head if any of my local youth pastors try and bring THEIR student population to this event in an attempt to reach the 100-goal! I will also not be shaving my head at the Kick Off event – it will happen (if it happens) on the following week at “regularly scheduled” BOX event.

For our Fall Kick Off we’ve got two huge inflatable games rented, enough pizza to feed an army, and my personal DJ – Mike Hofer coming up to keep things exciting! We’re also going for 4-hours this year – doubling our usual 2-hour Kick Off norm.

This should be quite interesting!

Tonight we had a special guest at our Road Trip – Chris Atkins, a former Bethany Bible College student intern of ours came with his girlfriend, Amy to enjoy the festivities! It was great seeing him again.

I will be spending a majority of the day tomorrow (my usual day off) continuing work on my sermon for this weekend as I am preaching again this week as Pastor Janofski and his family enjoy a week in Michigan. I recently read a great article called, “Fruit Markets” about the Fruits of the Spirit and am planning on adapting that title into a Sunday-morning message with the same title.

Today I spent about 4-hours with two of my students filming a short movie that will eventually debut here at stevansheets.com – it’s either entitled, “Trashed” or “Recycled” and involves these guys throwing cans into garbage cans. Sure it sounds boring – but wait until you see the skill!
