Thanks to Mom & Dad Garrett, Jess and I were able to have our first-in-six-weeks date-night! We drove up to Goshen, watched X-Men 3: The Last Stand, and then enjoyed dinner at the Backyard BBQ restaurant!
We were celebrating two years of marriage tonight – our anniversary is actually on Monday, but I will be in Indianapolis for a meeting on Monday – and it was convenient that Mom and Dad Garrett both had Friday off and could watch Ella while we dated!
Ella did wonderfully – though it was good to know that we were missed by our daughter as we missed her for the 6-ish hours that we were gone:

Tomorrow, Jess and I will head to her former classroom and finish packing up her belongings and storing them here at our house. It’s official, now, that Jess will NOT be returning to Harrison next year – she’s going to be a full-time Mommy for the next year as she applied for a one-year “parental leave”.
In other news, Stevan’s new friend arrived today – and I got all of about 1500 songs loaded on to it before coming home for date-night. (1500 of about 4000 thus far) By the way – this is an Apple iPOD.

It was good to get away for a few hours tonight with my favorite woman, the love of my life. Celebrating two years of marriage is quite interesting – we amazed ourselves to think that at this time two years ago we NEVER would’ve thought we’d be parents in two years! Never! And yet God is blessing us as parents – everyday!

No mention of the fun time golfing today???? I know the date night takes precedent, but come on, at least a little love here buddy….
i love the face!
I must say that the thumb-sucking picture was very endearing, but the pout face….well, if I could, it would be kissed all over. Ella is a precious gem. Can’t wait to love on her.
Just so you know, your “rental car” has a jack for just such toys!!!!!! Happy Anniversary.
Oh, and Calah won’t be able to be at Graduation Sunday, she has to work in the a.m. :(
Congratulations, you two! Aren’t marraige and parenthood wonderful?
Yes, they are! :-)
OH!! This shot of her face IS a classic!! I LOVE, LOVE
Got cut off so here goes what I had written in totality!…
