Yes folks, our baby girl weighed in at 9-pounds, 3-ounces today at her weight-check at Dr. Pitts’ office!
Jess had to see Dr. Pitts today and was diagnosed with “mastitis” (look it up if you’re curious).
Some antibiotics should take care of the problem.
My wife is a trooper!
I came home this afternoon JUST in time to miss the “projectile poopage” that happened just minutes before I walked through the door.
Sure was sad to miss that photo-op!

Well,it is obvious she takes after her father…she loves to eat!! Whoa, 9 lbs. Hang in there Jess, Erica also experienced what you are. This time next month, it will be a “piece of cake”. Love to you!
Wow Jess, you have certainly passed the test in motherhood. A projectile poopage from Ella and mastitis all in one day! My dear, you can do ANYTHING now!
Jess, I had mastitis a couple of weeks ago and can totally relate. Did you read that it might mean you are doing too much too soon? (Besides the obvious milk/nursing issues involved, of course). That helped me try to take it easy more because I sure don’t want to go through that again. My doctor said the fever would be gone on 24 hours (if you have a fever…not sure how severe yours is) and that I would feel significantly better in 72 hours. She was right! Hang in there and keep nursing. :-)
Oh, and Jim just reminded me that pumping helped too – sometimes I wasn’t sure how much Madelyn was or wasn’t getting on that side with the clogged ducts and all. (Sorry if this all is TMI for everyone.)
oh, i do remember having that. the last comment was very right. i will pray for you.
Perfect, awesome photo of Ella!!!! Great photography! Poor dear Jess. My heart goes out to her. I pray that she is feeling better and the problem is clearing quickly.
