I’ve been thinking a lot about quotes lately. They show up in my life nearly every single day. I read them, I post them, I even look for them as illustrations and as point-makers.

But occasionally, I have trouble finding “that quote” – the one that undoubtedly adds the verification and/or exclamation point to whatever it is I’m trying to say.

I’m sure I’m not alone, that’s why I’ve decided to help us all out and list some helpful quotes here for your copying-and-pasting pleasure.

“This is by far, one of those books that you read and when you’re finished reading it you realize that you’ve read quite a book.”
-Stevan Sheets

“The thematic elements and cinematography of this film are the kind that leave a lasting impression on the viewer and invoke feelings that cannot be adequately described without a thesaurus.”
-Stevan Sheets

“It happens this same way every single time – no matter the circumstances, it is what it is.”
-Stevan Sheets

“The day has finally come or will soon be at hand (according to how you look at the situation) where this has never been more real and more serious.”
-Stevan Sheets

I think that about covers it. Are there other multi-use quotes I can add to my list? What quote could you have used in a pinch at one time or another? Leave a comment!

Love this commercial for Ecotricity. Giving ‘life’ to inanimate objects as they are demolished is a great idea!

In case you didn’t know, I’m going to Swaziland in October as a part of a district team that will be there for 2 weeks. More information on what we’ll be doing is available here on my Swaziland page.

As of today, February 2, I am now at 47% of my fundraising need to participate in this mission trip!

I am so grateful for each gift that has come in to support me in this adventure and opportunity to serve Christ’s church. I am excited to participate in the “pastor’s conference” we will be doing while in Swaziland.

At this almost halfway point in my fundraising goal, I am still in need of individuals and families to help me. If you would like to help me reach my $3,000 goal, would you prayerfully consider donating any amount. Click here for information about how you can give.

Being that I don’t have a way to work more hours for “overtime” as a pastor, I’m also offering my computer-graphics ability as another way of trying to raise my needed funds for this trip. I just finished designing a unique prayer card for a missionary friend of mine that will be serving in Papua New Guinea. If I can help you with a project (t-shirt design? stickers? graphic? postcard? business card?) please don’t hesitate to contact me – I would LOVE to help you with something as you consider making a donation towards my trip!

Caring Counts

This is so cool. As people arrived for our prayer and Bible Study tonight at church, one of our ladies asked me, “Do you want another copy?” as she handed me today’s “Shippensburg Sentinel”. I said, “Why would I?”

I had no idea that our adorable Kindergartner had her picture in it!

Ella was recognized as one of two in her class for displaying the character trait of “caring” in the month of December! We knew about her being recognized for this (we have a certificate she brought home), but we had no idea it would be in the newspaper!

I’m one proud Daddy!

How cool is this? On January 23rd, the Pennsylvania House of Representatives declared this year, 2012, the “the year of the Bible”!

“As not only Pennsylvania, but the United States, continues to face great tests and challenges, House Resolution 535 serves as a reminder that we must look to our faith in God and the Holy Scripture to provide us with the strength, wisdom and courage to conquer these great trials,” Rep. Rick Saccone (R), who sponsored the resolution, said.
