After seeing enough “hype” about this new 4th Avenue Jones band and their new album, I decided that a youth pastor who prides himself in keeping up with the latest in Christ-centered music should get this album.

I picked it up yesterday – on my day off.

I thought it was going to be yet another hip-hop crew trying their best to produce an album.

Released on Gotee Records, I had hope that this would be a high-quality record.

It isn’t the typical “rap” album that I expected. What I heard was the Christ-centered version of the Black Eyed Peas!

I don’t know much about the group – except that they have apparently been around for a number of years, just in the “underground” scene.

I found their first video from this new album here. It’s pretty interesting, too.

4th Avenue Jones official website: here. I have a feeling we’ll all be hearing more and more about this group in the weeks to come!

Red Cloud’s second full-length album is equally as impressive as his first for me. 15 more tracks of Red Cloud goodness.

If you can imagine hearing a rap-style that you’ve never heard before, that is how hearing Red Cloud is for me. It’s not a typical rap-style – and I assume this is due to Red Cloud’s American Indian heritage.

Lyrically – this album is incredible. As with all rap and hip-hop, there are probably about atleast 200% MORE lyrics than a typical rock/pop album. Red Cloud is definitely in love with his Lord, Jesus as evidenced through listening over and over to these tracks.

Released by SYNTAX records, this album includes some help from another group that I enjoy – “Sackloth Fashion”.

Red Cloud is featured on a track on the new Pigeon John album. His video “Kenpo Fighting” is featured oftentimes on TVU-LIVE – the satellite station we watch at theBOX.

I had heard Red Cloud a couple times before purchasing this album, but with him coming to Warsaw for the Pro-Life Music Festival (hopefully!), I thought I should get his album(s) and learn a little bit about who this guy is!

I’m impressed. This album is his “oldest” album – and is very impressive. 15 tracks.

I’m NOT impressed, however, that Red Cloud doesn’t have a worthwhile website – redcloudhiphop.com is his current website, but isn’t even worth visiting!

I’m currently eating the BEST afternoon snack ever invented.

Hostess Donettes (chocolate, frosted) and a 20 oz. Mt. Dew (with a B.O.G.O. cap!)

Yum.

If I were to walk into a liquor store, I would hope I would be “carded” before being able to make a purchase.

Obviously, I wouldn’t ever walk into a liquor store – unless they had a sale on lighter fluid or something! :)

I would also appreciate being “carded” if I were to attempt to purchase some-sort of firearm.

But WD-40?

Today at Wal-Mart, one of my purchases was a can of WD-40 – the spray can, with the sweet red straw attached…

As I checked out, the little computer screen facing me asked if I was born more than 18-years ago!

YOU HAVE TO BE 18 TO BUY WD-40???

I laughed out-loud when I saw that message on the screen and the lady behind the counter gave me “the look”. Thankfully, she thought I appeared to be over the required 18, and didn’t require me to say my ABC’s backwards, do multiplication, or even show my license. She just acknowledged the fact that there are those who “huff” WD-40.

“HUFF” WD-40?

You must be kidding me.
