All 500 pages of this Peretti novel were devoured by me yesterday and into this morning. I read the first 150 pages during the afternoon between Sunday morning services and Sunday evening service.

When Jess and I came home from church we decided NOT to watch any television, but to involve ourselves in our books!

At about 10:30 Jess gave up trying to stay awake to read, so I headed back out to the living room with the light over my shoulder, I continued to read, and read some more, and read some more.

I finished this morning at about 2AM. Altogether, I spent about 6 hours reading this book.

The book was VERY different than normal Frank Peretti books! I expected the “monster” to be somewhat of a Spiritual being, sent to earth to wreck us all. That was not the case at all.

Peretti DID show his typical-self in the arena of keeping my attention. I can remember reading “The Visitation” with a simliar reading-habit of not putting the book down until I finished.

I have already passed the book on to one of the ladies here in the office and when she is done, I’ll see if my wife will actually give it a try!

FINALLY!

Finally, an exciting, well-written, well-produced, and graphically-stunning piece of work for children (and 25-year-olds, TOO!) about the subject of “spiritual warfare”!

Frank Peretti would be proud to see such a DVD as we have found in “Angel Wars – Guardian Force”.

This DVD, the first in a series of 30-minute computer-generated episodes, explodes on the screen with background information of what the author’s idea of this Spiritual Battle that is being fought around us looks like.

Set in the future, God’s angel army battles Satan’s dominion for the souls of earth in a non-typical-Christian fashion.

From swords, shadow-demons, flying aircraft, to angels-with-attitudes, this movie kept me intrigued!

I will definitely be adding this series of DVD videos to my “collection” for future generations to watch and see some QUALITY Christian media!

This was one of those times where I was PROUD of Christians who were influencing others with QUALITY media instead of typical “old school” ways.

If you haven’t yet seen these movies, you MUST.

Reading “If I Only Had A Green Nose” by Max Lucado causes certain images of what “Wemmicks” look like and act like.

These series of DVD and VHS movies have given images to those characters in a computer-generated land. We picked this DVD up at the Nappanee Christian bookstore on their “clearance” rack and were pleasantly surprised by the quality!

The graphics are no where NEAR the Pixar-influenced world-standards we are living in, but in my opinion, the story-line makes up for that!

If you haven’t yet seen this series of movies available – ask your local Christian bookstore to order them immediately!

Mom said we’d LOVE this movie.

Jess did. I tried to take a nap during it.

I caught MOST of the movie even with trying to take a nap last evening. I wasn’t impressed with much except with the “good ending”.

I was disappointed, however, with the idea that “John Clark” (Richard Gere) merely brought a rose and dressed in a tuxedo to “woo” his wife back into love with him.

In an apparently “dysfunctional” family situation where communcation was NOT a priority, Mr. Clark “fixed” all their problems with a rose and a tux.

That, to me, was hardly typical.

“Almost” infidelity is a HUGE thing these days with husbands and wives “wondering” what it would be like to be with someone else, and in my opinion this movie praised such an idea.

Those facts and the idea of an entire movie being made about ballroom dancing labeled this movie as a “dud” in Stevan’s book.
