Day Off

Last night and today has been full of DVD-R watching. Some programs that we didn’t have a chance to watch LIVE, I recorded and watched today and last night!

Last night was the latest Navy NCIS and Amazing Race episodes and today was “Super Volcano” – a 3-hour “what if” movie about the possiblity of an erruption of Yellowstone National Park’s “sleeping caldera”. VERY INTERESTING.

Tomorrow evening will be fun – Jess and I are joining Craig Helfrich for an evening in Ft. Wayne. Dinner and a movie and much laughter will take place for sure!

Passion \'05 - How Great is Our GodFinally!

Finally, Passion released their latest, the 2005 live album that has been rocking both here in the office and in the car for the last day and a half!

13-tracks and a bonus DVD made this purchase a no-brainer, though at $21.xx I was a little hesitant. Enter the “pastoral discount” at our local bookstore. Thank you Wesleyan Church for my “Rev.” prefix.

The album itself is “nothing new” – in typical PASSION FASHION, the album’s tracks are some new, some old in the “worship realm”. These are the albums that get worship leaders moving. These are the albums that cause the “what’s new” to not be “new” anymore.

I love it.

Steve Taylor

I was a closet Steve Taylor fan back in the 90’s as a kid trying to find the “best” Christian music. His was a bit edgy, satire-filled, and Mom and Dad weren’t fans. Those facts made me like it.

Steve Taylor finished his solo career early in the 90s and began Squint Records – where Sixpence None The Richer and others were produced and released. Squint died sometime later and I pretty much “lost track” of Steve Taylor until today.

Through my Youth Specialties e-mail update, I found an article entitled, “Whatever Happened to Steve Taylor“. Good stuff.

Through reading the article, I found out that Steve is directing a movie with Michael W. Smith as the lead!

The movie “The Second Chance” has a website here.

CONFESSIONS..

4.13.2005 — 2 Comments

CONFESSION #1:
Today after I made our week’s bank-deposit, I headed to the Warsaw Post Office and bought 8 books of stamps (160) and stuck them on the last of our “Thank You” notes and sent them on their merry ways!

Hurray for us! 10 months and 7 days and we’ve FINALLY finished our “Thank You” notes!

To the 1 or 2 of you who didn’t sign the card or put a card with the gift, THANK YOU. (we had, I think, one or two gifts that had no known “giver”.)

CONFESSION #2:
Tomorrow our 2004 taxes will be “sent”. Nothing like waiting until the last minute to cause heartburn.
