Fort Wayne

Jess and I leave in a few minutes to have dinner in Ft. Wayne with our friends: Wes & Ellen Pate. They will be leaving next week for Tuscaloosa, Alabama – their new home and ministry opportunity.

This is also our Anniversary dinner – can you believe we’ve been married for a year on Sunday!

Sherilyn – thanks for the anniversary gifts! The Bosnian-Chocolate was a liquid mess, but everything else was intact!

’54 Buick

My buddy Dale Long showed up here at the church this morning driving his classic ’54 Buick.

The thing has no door handles inside or out! Hidden buttons on the outside and inside pop-open the doors.

Usually when someone has a sweet retro car, they let people look at it and drool over it.

I did a lot of that. Until he said “Wanna drive it?”

Today I drove a car that was built the year my dad was born! Pretty fun ‘break’ this morning!

Couldn’t sleep last night.

Got up at 2AM and wrote out this weekend’s sermon outline!

Spent the majority of the day in the office turning last night’s scribbles into workable notes for Sunday’s message.

While taking periodic writer’s-block breaks, I stumbled upon two of my hero’s websites: Chris and Cliff Powell were teens in the church Dad pastored when I was born in Easton, Maryland. Cliff has been a rockstar for many years now and apparently Chris is planning on running for President! (or atleast he should?!)
