I just got done with a unique visit to Yellowstone National Park.

What?

Yep! I just watched Old Faithful errupt with dozens of others!

It brought back MANY memories of 3 of the best summer-months of my life – spent working, hiking, and living Yellowstone and surrounding areas.

How did I see Old Faithful errupt this morning? By visiting her webcam! Check it out!

I would be going against all that is holy if I didn’t share “with the world” the latest blessing that came to the Stevan and Jessica Sheets household.

Two weeks ago I went to Walmart to get an oil change and get my tires balanced and rotated. The oil change went fine, but they wouldn’t balance or rotate my tires due to extremely low tread on all four tires – due to the wear of driving with an out-of-alignment car.

I was a bit dismayed about the situation – knowing that I’d need to spend about $200 to get 4 new tires and an alignment. Jess and I put it in the Lord’s hands – obviously, the best hands!

Yesterday we received a $100 gift and today we received ANOTHER $100 gift.

God’s blessings are never-ending and are “just-in-time”!

He knew that if those gifts came at a different time, we would have spent them on other “necessities”! (frisbees, toys, videos, etc.)

Today after we realized these two gifts, Jess and I were in awe of the Providential blessings of our Lord!

This afternoon I took my wife on a “dinner & a movie” date and the movie was yet another Summer 2005 remake: Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Let me first say that this will DEFINITELY be on my Christmas 2005 wish-list!

Let me say, secondly, that each and every stevansheets.com reader – regardless of race, sex, occupation, or marital status MUST go out and see this amazing remake!

This version goes WAY deeper into the characters of both Charlie and Willy Wonka! I loved that fact! Also – the amazing Tim Burton imagery that makes this movie an amazing “work of art” is absolutely superb.

From the Oompa Loompa’s to the “all candy room”, the movie’s images will continue to run through my head for the next weeks I’m sure!

Burnt.

If you could see my arms right now, you would probably attempt to touch them to watch me scream like a little girl.

Jess did that without realizing the pain involved.

Screaming didn’t happen, however. Tears, though – DID.

Today I spent a majority of the day with my favorite Father-in-law in Bluffton. We shingled the entire West side of their shed. It was unbelievably hot today, I might add. Apparently the “heat index” was 110. Imagine being on the roof with BLACK, HOT shingles in that kind of heat.

I melted atleast 3 times. The heat felt through my shoes alone was enough to cause me to second guess whether I was still living or not!

It was an enjoyable time. Spending time with Dad Garrett is always a good time!

I think I’ll go pout about my arms now.

Jess and I are both “a buzz” from breathing exhaust for almost 3 hours tonight at the Kosciusko County 4-H Fair. Tonight was the demolition derby – where my buddy Matt VanKirk was entered and completed his 15th year of demolition derby action! Wow!

Plenty of church folks showed up this evening to cheer Matt on, but despite the cheers, his “u-joint” in his steering column snapped during one of his hits causing him to be out for the remainder of the evening. Bummer. He did an awesome job with his stationwagon in the first match-up, though!

I took plenty of photos and video clips tonight to share with faithful stevansheets.com visitors! Enjoy a few pictures first, the videos will be uploaded in the next couple of days.

Tomorrow: headed to Bluffton to help Dad Garrett roof the storage shed/garage behind their house! Should be a fun day of manual labor!!

Enjoy the rest of the photos here.
