Golfing with Glen

Headed to lunch this afternoon with buddy, Glen Robinson. We ate at the Boathouse and then headed to Racoon Run for 9-holes of fun.

After we had our golfing fun, we headed home for some Works Bomb chemistry-lessons and then realized that Glen left his phone at the golf course.

He went back and drove the whole course looking for his phone but couldn’t find it.

He finally came back here to the apartment and I went back with him with MY phone and we called his phone about 12-times until someone answered on hole #1. They had found his phone and we picked it up right at the green at hole #1! It happened to be Mr. Polston’s golfing group there at the green. Mr. Polston is Jess’ principal! I don’t think he recognized me, though.

It was a great day and many great pictures were taken, along with some great golfing commentary videos and some works-bomb explosions!

Newest videos are here.

Movie - Brothers GrimmTonight’s “destination unknown” date-night included the 7:30 showing of “Brothers Grimm” – PG-13.

Initial reaction was that I’d already seen this movie.

Evil bugs – stolen from “Lord of the Rings”.

Evil witch trying to “live again” – stolen from “The Mummy”.

Backdrop cities – stolen from many other movies.

Wolf-man – stolen from numerous b-rated flicks.

Storyline – stolen from many (if not all) childhood fairytales – this one was to be expected.

The plot lacked very much – kind of made me think that the director had a favor to ask Heath Ledger and Matt Damon and that favor was to act in his upcoming b-rated film.

Definitely NOT a child-movie, though that is what you’d expect in a movie about famous Fairytale-tellers. Heads cut off, swords through bad-guys (and good guys!) and evil witches with mucho cleavage.

Word to the wise – go watch paint dry instead of this film.

Finished “Prince Caspian” this morning before heading to the office. During lunch today I made it through chapter 4 of “The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”.

C.S. Lewis’ words have definitely found a way of drawing me into each book in the Chronicles of Narnia series!

The new RELEVANT magazine arrived today. Jon Foreman (Switchfoot) is on the cover. It’s a great issue so far (just glanced through it).

The new 17″ flat-panel LCD monitors arrived this afternoon. These are going up in theBOX in the next couple of weeks.

I’m whisking Jess away this evening to a “destination unknown” date-night.

Tomorrow I have lunch with buddy Glen Robinson and then the second golf-outing in two-weeks! We’re going to play 9-holes at Raccoon Run, again!

Can’t wait!

Brennan!

This afternoon before Jess got home, Steve & Rita Zerbe called to see if maybe we could meet for an impromptu-supper! I called Jess and the plan was made!

We met them at Applebee’s and enjoyed a great supper of conversation and an unbelievably enjoyable Brennan-visit! Brennan is their almost-three-year-old grandson.

Of course I brought my digital to dinner and snapped some great photos and video clips.

Photos here.

Videos here, here, and here.

Day-off rundown:

9:30AM – Wake Up (felt GREAT to sleep in!)
10:00AM – checking e-mail, trying to overcome the “want” to go back to bed.
10:30AM – begin hanging pictures (these pictures have been needing to be hung for more-than-a-year!)
11:00AM – re-organize my tools. Throw away old toolbox, introduce myself to new toolbox that was a Christmas present from Dad and Mom, also re-organize the living room closet (where my tools “hide”)
12:00PM – start taking stuff apart after organizing tools
12:05PM – take apart pillar-fan, vacuum thoroughly
12:10PM – take apart vent-fan in bathroom, vacuum and wash thoroughly
12:15PM – put things back together
12:30PM – vacuum and clean our EcoQuest Air Sanitizer
12:35PM – get a “buzz” off of amonia cleaning solution and nearly black-out (kidding)
12:45PM – head to the kitchen
12:50PM – begin throwing away “month-after-wedding” stuff (bulletins, papers, receipts, etc.) that somehow continued living on our kitchen floor in a giftbag (I hope I was allowed to throw this stuff away!)
1:00PM – begin the daunting task of dish-washing
1:35PM – 35-minutes of dishwashing is enough to make any man crazy
1:40PM – watch the bonus-features of the “For All You’ve Done” Hillsong DVD that has been playing all morning, wondering just how long the “menu” has been repeating while I’ve been doing dishes…
1:50PM – vacuum entire apartment
2:00PM – take a break here in the computer room and check e-mail again

Next up – the bathroom. The rugs have already been shaken, the sink is clean, next up is THE SHOWER. I wonder what kind of headache I’ll get from cleaning solutions today?!
