movie_05.jpgOn the day after Thanksgiving, instead of waiting in long lines and buying things we didn’t need, we enjoyed watching “The DaVinci Code”!

I was wary of our family watching this “controversial” film that so many have spoken out against, and after seeing it I can understand people’s opinions on the storyline being uncomfortable to handle.

However, when ANY fictional movie portrays our belief-system as “false”, I hope I will always be quick to NOT instantly write it off as unwatchable because of someone else’s opinion.

I believe this movie, while entertaining the brain, DOES provide a great platform for discussing our beliefs and begs ANY Christian to know why they believe what they believe AND to practice Christian Apologetics!

Tom Hanks and Audrey Tautou played their parts perfectly, by the way!

movie_04.jpgYet another movie that I “rented” through BarterBee’s marvelous website!

And, yet another movie that I loved and Jess didn’t love!

We turned this one on during our Sunday afternoon nap-time and I thoroughly enjoyed missing my nap and “resting” while watching the craziness that was included in this movie!

If the movie was this entertaining, I can only imagine the enjoyment I would receive reading the book!

I will admit that a few things were hard to follow through this fast-paced movie, but the overall plot/story-line made complete sense and was easy to follow. I almost don’t want to put this one back up on my “available” list until I’ve watched through it again.

movie_03.jpgJess may have cried near the ending of this movie, but we were both once-again disappointed in Sandler’s sophomoric humor and sexual innuendo throughout “Click” that we watched last week before Thanksgiving.

The storyline is incredible (especially for a Sandler movie!) – the idea of slowing down a fast-paced life to enjoy family and the finer things in life instead of working to get the next best things. A great story!

We were glad to have borrowed this one instead of buying.

I was impressed with the DVD menu corresponding directly to the movie graphics – I would’ve been disappointed if it wasn’t that way!

movie_02.jpg“United 93” was definitely a mistake to have used my points to obtain through barterbee.com. Thankfully, however, as soon as I was done watching it I put it back up on Barterbee and was able to get the same amount of points for someone else to receive it!

The entire time I was watching the movie I was reminded of the similar version of the movie that I watched on the Discovery Channel months ago.

It was interesting to see that the director made every military serviceman or woman into a cursing sailor throughout the movie. The memory of the 9-11 heroes would be better represented without this film.

movie_01.jpgJess and I were told by nearly everyone we knew that we just HAD to watch “Secondhand Lions”. We’d put it off long enough and were finally told to watch it again – this time by someone who actually owned it (thanks Sweeny family!)

So, about a week ago, Jess and I sat down to watch the movie.

We enjoyed it. Really. It was a good movie, but you know what happens when EVERYONE tells you to see a movie because it’s so great? Well, it didn’t live up to everyone else’s opinion.

We were glad to have borrowed this one and not mistakingly purchase it for our own collection.
