These are good days.

Mom and Dad are visiting this week from PA. Dad and I are busy doing around-the-house projects and I’ve finally snuck away to the office this morning early to get some work done before staff meeting. This afternoon I have a men’s golf outing and Sherilyn arrives this evening for the last 2-days of Mom and Dad’s visit. They’ll worship with us on Sunday morning and leave on Monday morning soon after we head off with 28 of our students for a week of youth camp!

I’m a year older today.

Nothing magical about that.

Tonight I got to meet another 3rd cousin once-removed. Her name is Beth. She’s Pastor Gerry’s sister. Cool, huh? Took us some time to figure out exactly the lineage that makes us all related. Here’s the scoop.

Gerry’s mother, Joanne was born to Harold K. Sheets. Harold was born to Enos Sheets. Enos was born to John Sheets.
My father, Paul Sheets was born to Jim Sheets. Jim was born to John G. Sheets. John G. Sheets was born to Ezra Sheets. Ezra was born to John Sheets.

Ezra and Enos were brothers.

This makes Pastor Gerry and I third cousins once removed.

It also makes Pastor Gerry & Wenda’s three teenagers my fourth cousins!
