From 11.15.08 – Stevan & Duffy Robbins

Tonight Jess and I were able to attend the Westmoreland County Youth Network’s 2nd Annual Youth Ministry Appreciation Dinner in Greensburg. We even had the privilege of sitting at the table with Duffy Robbins – national speaker, youth ministry professor, and all-around youth ministry guru.

He shared some great encouragement with our group tonight that I am going to share here. He called these four-points “4 Simple Encouragement Principles” and yet they were extremely powerful to hear tonight:

#1. THE MORNING SICKNESS PRINCIPLE
– The process doesn’t always look like progress

#2. THE DIVINE SURPRISE PRINCIPLE
– God often acts when we don’t expect Him to

#3. THE MIRACLE MATH PRINCIPLE
– God takes negatives and turns them into positives

#4. THE REAL LOVE PRINCIPLE
– A commitment to God can look different between a teen and an adult and yet be as genuine.
– Thinking about the “I Love You” said to a spouse upon engagement vs. saying “I Love You” after 35-years of marriage. Same genuine commitment of love seen differently through the time frame of relationship.

Okay, I’m in

My web-buddy Tim Schmoyer is the proud owner of TWO iPod touches, an XBOX 360 Elite, and thousands of dollars that he got FOR FREE.

He just posted again over at timschmoyer.com about how he got these incredible items with a minimal investment. (he has invested only about $100 of his own money to receive ALL of the items he has already received.)

What hooked me was that he just turned in his referrals for his wife’s BRAND NEW MacBook today. I just HAVE to try my hand at this and see what the possibilities could be for me and MY family!

He has a LOT more active readers to his blog, so I know I won’t get completed referrals as soon as he did, but with the research he has done and the proof he has offered on his site time and time again, I feel like this is something I want to try out for myself. I’m going to document everything as I go, so let’s see where this takes us!

I signed up yesterday on the bonusipods.com site with simply an e-mail a password to login. I got my confirmation e-mail nearly instantly and I browsed through the offers (each referral – including me – has to complete a few trial offers to qualify for the FREE gift offer)

11.13.2008 – Signed up for the 1-month Blockbuster Online Trial ($9.99) [this offer completes 50% of my needed offers]
– I was immediately credited with my 50% offers status, which means I only need to fulfill another 50% and get enough referrals to receive my FREE iPod!
– immediately signed up to get Iron Man, Hulk, and Indiana Jones – three movies we haven’t seen yet! They go in the mail tomorrow!

Want in, too? Click here and sign up as a referral of mine!

How did you vote?

62 stevansheets.com visitors participated in the pre-election “who are you voting for” poll that I posted back in August. I am curious to see how some of those same visitors actually voted in the recent election.

Be assured, PollDaddy poll-data is anonymous.

So, how DID you vote?

From 11.10.08 – Saying Goodbye to Grand-Garretts

Mom and Dad Garrett made the 6-hour trip from Bluffton, IN to New Stanton, PA on Friday to visit their granddaughter daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughter.

We had a blast hosting them here in our new home, showing them some of our area and even worshiping with them at church on Sunday.

It was a great visit and made it difficult to say goodbye this morning. Ella kept hoping to see them every time she thought about them all afternoon and evening. We had to keep telling her that they had to go home and go to work. She wasn’t buying it.

Thanks Mom & Dad Garrett for coming East to visit us! Come back again soon!
