Most of us know how to ride a bike. Maybe you’re one of the “advanced” and can ride without touching the handlebars. Maybe you’re cool-enough (I’m not) to pull up on the front end and do a wheelie (you should see the kid in my neighborhood who does this and changes tracks on his iPod at the same time).
Apparently Tim Knoll could do these and was still bored with his ability – so he invented a completely different way of riding his bike and performing tricks. I love stuff like this…
A few days ago, I was sent a copy of the DVD, “Christianity, Cults & Religions” to sample and review from Rose Publishing. This afternoon I made some time to sit and watch through the first of six lecture-based studies and was very impressed.
The lecturer, Paul Carden is extremely knowledgeable and easy-to-understand. The first session gives a well-grounded Biblical basis for a study of this nature and Carden gives ample reasoning for why Christians today need to go through a study of this nature.
I am already planning on using this study in my adult Sunday school class in a few weeks.
The DVD curriculum includes six 30-minute lectures from Carden as well as a supplemental DVD with a PDF of the Leader’s Guide which can be printed and used in the classroom setting.

Preached the third message in our series, “The Real Church” this morning. It was a revisiting of sorts of the third point – the quality of the REAL church: that the church has a “A Risk-Taking Faith”. We camped out on the story of Jesus feeding the five-thousand from Matthew’s Gospel and then we ended the service with a real-life opportunity for a personal, family-oriented, and church-wide faith-risk. I put before our church a Faith Promise opportunity for us to support missions.
We will be receiving the Faith Promise forms from our church families over the next two weeks and announce our total by the first week in November. I’m excited about what God is going to do through our church family to support the Gospel being spread around the world!
