After a long week of work, my girls being sick with the flu, 4 Christmas Play performances, etc., it was great to come home tonight and share this moment with my daughter on the floor:

Today was my day-off and Jess and I decided it would be the perfect day for decorating for the Christmas season.
I decided to go hi-tech and find a time-lapse program to capture the festivities. I found a program with a 10-day free trial and set up my webcam on top of the bookcase. A 2-hour tree-building was captured in 2-second increments and compressed into 2-minutes. Check it out: (music by Sufjan Stevens)
Ella loves the tree – she seems to get “lost” while watching. When we finished with the decorating we could do before dinner, we took time to pray as a family for the upcoming Season and for all of the time-commitments that come with it and for what often becomes a very stressful season for ministry-families. We’ll be doing our best to keep our heads as we enter this time of year and make sure to keep our hearts turned on the True reason for celebrating!
Jess and I enjoyed dinner at Mad Anthony’s tonight thanks to a timely gift from a church family. Afterwards we rushed through Wal-Mart to get Ella’s stocking, a tree skirt, and the hardware to hang our Moravian Star above our front steps.
Today in both morning services, we had the privilege of having the Indiana Wesleyan University chorale with us. I captured a few moments to share with stevansheets.com readers.
Enjoy, and don’t tell Dr. Guy.
