Beijing 2008

The Olympics start tomorrow! How exciting. Just found an article thanks to Joshua Blankenship that tells me all the Internet locations to watch the events LIVE! How cool is that?

Coldplay (one of my favorite bands), in honor of starting their new tour, is giving away a free track that’s NOT on their latest album!

Download it here.

It’s called “Death Will Never Conquer”, and I wonder what church will be the first to play it as a culture-friendly hymn!

Wordle(dot-net)

My buddy Glen turned me on to a new website via his blog today.

It’s called “Wordle.net” and it’s pretty fun. What it does is take your text and put it into “clouds”!

From their site:

Wordle is a toy for generating “word clouds” from text that you provide. The clouds give greater prominence to words that appear more frequently in the source text. You can tweak your clouds with different fonts, layouts, and color schemes. The images you create with Wordle are yours to use however you like. You can print them out, or save them to the Wordle gallery to share with your friends.

Here’s my first “wordle” – a look at a sermon I preached a few months ago in “cloud format”:

Can you imagine how amazing it would be to own this?

TEN:15

I kinda like this.

From the TEN:15 website:

HOW DID IT START: a small group of people looking for an artistic diversion in the morning.

WHY?: We thought it would be interesting to see what one minute in time looks like in different places. A collection of life, work + play that revolves around 10:15 am.

It’s provided us with an opportunity to take a step back and look at our surroundings differently. Plus it’s always fun to see what other people are doing.

JOIN THE EXPERIMENT: If you have a camera phone or camera on you at 10:15 am, take a photo that shows a random glimpse of your life at that moment and email it in. Include your name, the location, a title for your photo and your website link (if you have one). Thanks for playing!
