Archives For General

So part of my wishing for snow and ice has come true.

The whole of Warsaw is now covered in the frozen substance: ice.

It’s awesome!

I did the “manly” thing and took Ben Thompson with me to scrape Jess’ car when they were dismissed from school early this afternoon. When we finished her car we couldn’t help but be useful and scrape about 10-other cars of innocent women who also needed our help!

It was freezing.

Note to self: next time bring gloves and a hat.

Idiots.

So I’m back at the church now with a minimal staff still here with the weather being evil and all. I pulled into the church parking lot which has been frozen solid for quite a few hours and did my infamous donuts throughout the open parts. My Neon rocks!

I’m pretty sure I’ll be leaving here shortly – everything has been cancelled her tonight – which kills me because I really do look forward to my BOX nights with much anticipation.

I hope this ice keeps falling and then piles of snow cover it!

That sounds so wrong to “want”, but really I do!

So we’re in the middle of a Winter Storm Warning. They “say” we’re supposed to get some nasty ice and up to 8″ of snow.

They always talk about these big storms and nothing ever happens – I doubt if it’ll even get cloudy.

This afternoon Ben Thompson helped me set up the new projection screen in the gym – just to make sure we could figure it all out. The church purchased this bad-boy for our Super Bowl Party and some other up-and-coming events that will be taking place.

Check it out:

Honestly – it really is 10′ x 14.5′ – can you imagine how awesome that will be during the Super Bowl?!

I’ll also try and impress you with a fresh design – this is our Super Bowl Party poster (print size – 8.5″x14″)

nice, huh?

And finally, this evening – here is “ONE” of the “Neon-swallowing” pot-holes that Warsaw has become famous for:

You should’ve seen the traffic around me giving me that “weird look” as I photographed this evil thing.

What in the world, did Warsaw pick up and move to Seattle, Washington and no one told me about it?

It’s crazy – it has been raining cats and dogs for two-straight days now.

That is only good for one thing: big splashes when driving too close to the shoulder of the road!

Rain aside, today was a good day. Woke up early, got to work early, and got a lot of work done.

Took my buddy Nate Thompson to lunch at “the bell” today – good conversation and always makes me feel good to chill with a college student!

Right before heading home, I uncovered some tsunami footage by googling that phrase – “tsunami footage”. Incredible stuff, really. I don’t want to post links here because some of the graphic nature, so you’ll have to uncover it for yourself.

Jess made her famous “taco ring” for dinner tonight and we actually sat together at the kitchen table. I love it when our schedules allow for that!

After supper we both had our Bible studies. I headed to the Helfrich’s and Mrs. Helfrich headed here! What fun it is to be us!

Had a good time with “the boys” around the Helfrich dining room table tonight. Discussion about everything with those guys is so beneficial to my soul, I’m telling you what!

Tomorrow – another full day. And on the way to work I will once again play, “miss the potholes”. Indiana roads are TERRIBLE.

Maybe, just maybe I’ll take a picture of the pothole that nearly swallowed the Neon today!

Told you they would be here, eventually!

WELCOME TO 2K5

Welcomed the New Year in with Craig & Lindsay, and Craig’s brother – Kevin.

We had a great time together!

To “pass the hours”, we watched two DVDs – “Napoleon Dynamite” & “King Arthur” – both were EXTREMELY entertaining! More on them both when I wake up this afternoon.

It was a “romantic moment” sharing the first moments of 2K5 kissing my wife!

What a blessing she is to me!
