Marion.

In 5 minutes I will get in my car and enjoy my new Passion ’05 CD on my way to Marion.

I have a District Youth Cabinet meeting there this afternoon and evening.

The road to Marion is paved with boredom.

Passion will be inspiring. Maybe I’ll even sing along a bit.

Thank you Staci for the link this morning!

Bound4Life

Bound4Life sent me my red “LIFE” arm-band today in the mail. I ordered it from their website a few weeks ago.

Bound4Life is a “post-modern” attempt at empowering those of us who are pro-life. They have a non-violent, non-explicit, and non-invasive plan to take a pro-life stand in today’s culture.

The Bound4Life Covenant:
– I will pray that abortion will end every time I see the bound for life wristband.
– I will vote for candidates who are actively pro-life.
– I will obey God as he leads me into the works of Compassion and Justice.

They ask that each of us pray this prayer, “Almighty God, I plead Jesus’ blood over my sins and the sins of this nation. End abortion and send revival to America.”

I’m particularly impressed with their “silent sieges” where they take a pro-life stand in silence wearing “LIFE” across their lips in red tape:

Lunch

My 6″ Turkey sub from Subway took all of about 4 bites to finish.

I wish we had a Blimpie.

Today we had the privilege of sitting under Rev. Bill Kinnan during our morning worship services.

He preached a wonderful sermon with 4 main points on John 2:1-12.

01. If you want to experience God’s transforming power – invite Him to your party.
02. When you invite Him to your party, believe that He can meet your need!
03. Surrender to His purposes.
04. Expect blessings in unexpected places, in unexpected ways!

The message was interestingly enough, on a passage of Scripture that Dad Garrett and I talked about just a week ago. Eventually I will post an entire post on the passage and how this miracle teaches some pretty interesting stuff about the Lord.

We enjoyed a great Boathouse lunch with the Kinnans and I found out that Mrs. Kinnan is a steady stevansheets.com visitor! I also heard some pretty interesting stories about my father and grandfather! I will need to confirm both stories in the near future.

The one about Dad involves the “Peter, Peter Pumkin Eater” poem. And the one involving my Grandfather involves a burial ceremony with a dog being kicked.

Interesting.

Jess and I both relaxed this afternoon with our new books! She is reading another Lori Wick book “Moonlight on the Millpond”, and I’m 150+ pages into the latest Frank Peretti book, “Monster”.

I just hit the Monster website (www.themonsterhunt.com) and realized that the actual release date of the book is April 12th – Tuesday! I am sure this is yet another perk of being a Pastor!
