So yesterday we took the infamous “first load” of items over to the new place. It was all the “storage shed” stuff: fishing poles, bicycles, lawn mower, horseshoe game set, potato gun, electric fans, and numerous “I probably shouldn’t have these” road signs.
This afternoon we will be taking our first “this belongs inside the house” loads over and attempt to decrease the amazing stack of boxes and plastic totes that litter our current living room.
Jess is such a trooper – she continues to pack as I continue to work here in the office.
On Thursday morning, it looks like 8-10 guys will be showing up to move the “heavy stuff”. Cable guy shows up anywhere from 1-5PM to get us back on-line.
This is the craziest thing I think we’ve ever attempted – moving in sub-arctic temperatures.
Today the 13-0 Colts fell to the 13-1 Colts via a 9-point defeat by the San Diego Chargers.
I take full responsibility for the Colts loss because I was too busy to sit and cheer them on this afternoon. I caught just the last 3-minutes of the game because I took the afternoon “off” and went sledding with Shawn French and his sons, Logan and Jake.
I’ll let the pictures do MOST of the talking:
Before I took the sled down the hill, this is what it looked like, except my sled was bright green:

I spent the rest of our hour-and-a-half sledding adventure nursing my “broken bottom” and impressing the Warsaw kids with a little coal-shovel sledding! They wanted to know “where I learned to do that” and I told them that “it’s all over the internet” and “I can’t believe you never heard of coal-shovel sledding”. I’m pretty sure they were impressed.
I think Shawn was a bit impressed, too.
My bottom hurts now.

We’re home from Michigan!
We had a great day-away there with Steve & Rita Zerbe. We got in last evening around 8:30 and enjoyed visiting their church and exploring their new place of employment. Lake Center Bible Church in Portage, Michigan is a great facility!
We spent the evening in the new Zerbe home that they just moved into a few weeks ago. It’s beautiful, brand-new, and has PLENTY of space for their grandchildren to enjoy coming to their grandparents’!
This morning we got up and headed up to Kalamazoo to visit their Daughter and Son-in-law and their family. Ben & Allison Davis now have TWO boys – Brennan and Micah. We enjoyed breakfast with the family VERY much.
After breakfast it was on the road for another hour or so to get to Holland. At 1:30 this afternoon, Phil and Steph Stuller were wed at the Holland Central Wesleyan Church. Jess had been to Holland Central before while touring with the IWU Chorale. I had never been there before, so of course we decided to explore there, too!
We headed back home this evening and arrived here safely in Warsaw by 8:30.
We’re both exhausted from the trip and the numerous events that transpired over the last day and a half!

Video of “the kiss” is here.
