Archives For General

Tonight’s class was my least favorite thus far. Lots of talking, lots of PowerPoint slides, and a lot more talking.

We watched an interesting video tonight about the hospital bed – an entire video on what the bed can do! Okay, that was a bit interesting.

We practiced again this week our “drive to the hospital” on the way to the hospital – complete with 4-way flashers, horn honking, and “yielding” through the 2 stop signs (I looked both ways, I promise!) We made it there in record time and I even managed to remind Jess to keep breathing as she continuously giggled at my antics (and put on the “fake brake” that she thinks she has on her side of the car as I “yielded”)!

After class we were able to talk a bit about how since attending these “classes”, it is remarkable how much more positive we are that BOTH of us are going to make it through this whole childbirthing experience. I know there is a lot we don’t know and can’t plan for, but honestly – I’m ready to give it a go!

I’m excited about working with my wife as she miraculously gives birth to our son/daughter! I’m excited about helping her focus on something other than the extreme pain of childbirth. I’m excited about the experience and having opportunity to pray with my wife and my new baby as he/she is born!

7 weeks left, folks!

TWO WEEKS BACK

So, my buddy Scott Greene (Youth Pastor at Warsaw Community Church) is going back to school tomorrow.

No big deal, right?

Wrong – he’s going back to school as a High School SOPHOMORE!

That’s right – tomorrow he starts classes – the real deal – at Warsaw Community High School!

Watch his experience nearly-live (updated nightly) on his site – www.twoweeksback.com!

We’ll be rooting for the “hippies” and the “nerds”.

Who are YOU rooting for?

Walk The Line

2.28.2006 — 2 Comments

Walk the Line came out on DVD today.

This Sheets family grabbed one of the first copies available at Wal-Mart!

Our “extended version” includes some great goodies!

The closing ceremonies of the 20th Winter Olympic Games were absolutely incredible. If you missed them, shame on you. Actually, I can understand missing them – I wouldn’t have even known they were happening except for a phone call from my mother this afternoon! I watched more Olympics tonight than in the entire 17-days they were happening.

Seriously though – the “skydivers” were the coolest part! Dad and Sherilyn and I each did the “indoor version” of skydiving in Gatlinburg, TN when I was still in High School! We never did anything as cool as what these guys did tonight, but we still experienced a bit of what they did!

Also – I’m pretty sure the Cirque Du Soleil is going to have a BIG part in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancoover, Canada as per what looked like a Cirque Du Soleil “preview” tonight!
