Tonight we finished the Season Finale of one of our favorite television shows – Kid Nation on CBS.

We watched all 13-episodes laughing and crying (Jess did, not me – I’m tough, remember?) all season long.

Tonight was a great conclusion by introducing each set of parents into the finale. They also ‘shocked’ us by giving away three more gold-stars that were worth $50,000 each instead of the normal $20,000 that they had been giving away during each episode.

We’re hoping for Kid Nation 2 to be as entertaining as this first-time series was for us!

Found some interesting things online about Kid Nation tonight:

List of participants, their home state, age, and other interesting (useless) information.
Kid Nation participant contract on the Smoking Gun website. (releases CBS and others involved in case of death, injury, even sexually transmitted diseases?)

Today I’m offering three brand-new PowerPoint games for youth-ministry. The first game is called, “Mangled Maxims” and it’s available thanks to my buddy Jason Denniston who sent me the file this morning and I tweaked it a bit. The next two are BOTH called “Moo Shoes” (versions 1.0 and 2.0). “Mangled Maxims” is a deciphering-type game and “Moo Shoes” are exactly the same as the game, “Mad Gab”.

If you’re interested, please freely download!

I can’t believe I haven’t blogged about this great service before today. Please forgive me for not blogging sooner!

According to news reports, a gunman entered New Life Church yesterday afternoon at about 1 p.m. and shot five people, killing sisters age 16 and 18, before being shot and killed by armed security.

Apparently the same man entered the Youth With A Mission (YWAM) office earlier that day and killed 2-others!

Please join me in praying for those involved in these tragic events.

This weekend we enjoyed a special visit from our friends, John & Danielle Freed!

John was the youth pastor here at Our Savior’s up until about a year-and-a-half ago and is now ministering at Fall Creek Wesleyan in Fishers, Indiana.

It is always great to reconnect with friends that we don’t get many opportunities to visit with! Jess and I had them over this morning for some home-grown breakfast and time to just visit together. It was a great morning even though I didn’t have much of a voice!
