I bought Jess a new Bible today.

Bought Jess a new “True Identity” TNIV Bible today at Garden of Readin’. I’ve been eying it for a couple weeks and finally made the decision today to upgrade her Bible she’s been reading since High School!

She was very surprised and pleased!

Good work, me.

It was a new experience buying a Bible for someone else. Sure I’ve bought boxes of “giveaway” Bibles and the occasional graduation gift Bible, but buying a Bible for my wife really took some unique discernment, thought, and research.

If it’s true that women use more words everyday than the average man, then it is probably also true that their Bible’s need more words too – as noticed in these “women’s Bibles” with stories, ideas, and devotions scattered throughout!

Watched this video again before SNL tonight – saw it for the first time last week during our pre-service hang-out time and was again struck with how amazing Switchfoot is. Happy 105th, Harley Davidson

This afternoon Gerry, his daughter Allison, and I enjoyed walking around Hal’s Harley Davidson in New Berlin, WI during the 105th Anniversary celebration of Harley Davidson. I saw more motorcycles today in one place than in my entire life, I’m sure. It was incredible.

I was reminded of a few things today as I wandered the grounds taking in the sights, smells, and sounds:
1. I live a sheltered life.
2. I don’t resemble a biker at all.
3. I can’t afford a motorcycle.
4. I enjoy my sheltered life!

Sarah Palin – McCain’s VP pick

Just did some reading on Sarah Palin, the current Governor of Alaska.

Found this article that will no-doubt be brought up in the next few days/weeks:

Palin said she has smoked marijuana — remember, it was legal under state law, she said, even if illegal under U.S. law — but says she didn’t like it and doesn’t smoke it now.

“I can’t claim a Bill Clinton and say that I never inhaled.”

I am much-more interested in her Christian values, pro-life stance, and energy ideas! I’m just guessing those will be placed to the side to fully investigate her statement back in ’06 about marijuana. Maybe I’m wrong.
