On Friday we had another ultrasound of Baby Sheets!
Here are a few pictures of our baby for your viewing pleasure. I also posted (after each photo) a “labeled version” for you to see what we saw!

Tonight’s class was my least favorite thus far. Lots of talking, lots of PowerPoint slides, and a lot more talking.
We watched an interesting video tonight about the hospital bed – an entire video on what the bed can do! Okay, that was a bit interesting.
We practiced again this week our “drive to the hospital” on the way to the hospital – complete with 4-way flashers, horn honking, and “yielding” through the 2 stop signs (I looked both ways, I promise!) We made it there in record time and I even managed to remind Jess to keep breathing as she continuously giggled at my antics (and put on the “fake brake” that she thinks she has on her side of the car as I “yielded”)!
After class we were able to talk a bit about how since attending these “classes”, it is remarkable how much more positive we are that BOTH of us are going to make it through this whole childbirthing experience. I know there is a lot we don’t know and can’t plan for, but honestly – I’m ready to give it a go!
I’m excited about working with my wife as she miraculously gives birth to our son/daughter! I’m excited about helping her focus on something other than the extreme pain of childbirth. I’m excited about the experience and having opportunity to pray with my wife and my new baby as he/she is born!
7 weeks left, folks!
So, week 2 is under our belts.
Speaking of “under the belt”, we watched THE video tonight – “The Stages of Labor”.
We were warned about this one weeks before we even started this class – and rightly so!
Let’s just be honest – there is nothing “attractive” about childbirth.
Not even the “alien life-form” is attractive at the moment of birth!
Maybe ours will be?
We had a different teacher than last week and she “caught” us practicing our breathing techniques on the way into class and instantly pegged me as a “funny guy”.
Such type-casting!
We did also learn another breathing technique, too, tonight – so that’s more homework for next week again.
And I didn’t even come CLOSE to getting sick during the video by the way!
Okay – so no dirty videos or even “dirty” talk tonight. (Thank goodness!)
The information tonight was pretty straightforward – no real surprises.
The free sodas and crushed ice made things go much better, too – we were out 15-minutes before 9.
It IS interesting to note the “partners” role in this whole childbirth thing is pretty substantial, however – I was waiting to find out about the “game room” that the dads get to go to when “things get rough”, but apparently there is no game room…
Next week’s lessons are on more breathing techniques, more relaxation techniques, learning the stages of labor, and what to expect when we arrive at the hospital!
We are in a class of 13-couples. I also took note of the PowerPoint projector being TOO close to the screen and the picture was less of a square and more of a trapezoid! How sad…
Yesterday we had yet another Dr.’s Appointment. Jess is “officially” due on April 27th – only 10-weeks away!
Everything is GREAT with the health of baby and mother and we are thanking the Lord for His blessing upon these first 7 months of pregnancy!
Keep praying for us as we embark on this life-change!
