After a hard frost last night the leaves have been falling all morning here in Mukwonago! Perfect opportunity for us to run outside and do a photoshoot!

In the latest issue of Youthworker Journal I discovered a new fundraising opportunity that appealed to my ministry-needs! Thanks to the people at “Support This Ministry”, our youth group now has an “online bookstore” that we will receive a percentage of income based on sales from. The site also redirects to numerous other online stores that you can receive discounts by using AND at the same time give us a percentage of the sale! Stores like Best Buy, iTunes, Wal-Mart, Toys R Us, and even the Starbucks Store(.com) each have been included in this fundraising opportunity!

Wanna help us raise funds? Click on our store and check it out! Direct link here.

book.jpgJust finished chapter 15 and the postscript of Chuck Smith Jr. and Matt Whitlock’s “Frequently Avoided Questions” book that I started MONTHS ago. I just found it in my night-stand the other night and after realizing I had only finished a bit more than a quarter of it figured I should finish!

So I did.

Some questions in the book are better than others, and the authors leave more questions than answers in the end. I liked how my mind was “stretched” reading through the book for sure.

The questions:
01. Why the Bible?
02. Do I Have to Go to Church?
03. Do I Have to Sell God?
04. Can Christianity be Reduced to Steps or Stages?
05. Does God Speak Outside the Bible?
06. Is Forgiveness Real?
07. What Makes the Christian Experience Unique?
08. Are Christians the Morality Police?
09. Do Good People Go to Hell?
10. Does the Bible Contradict Evolution?
11. Am I Supposed to Hate the World?
12. Are There Gay Christians?
13. It is Wrong to Take a Job in a Bar?
14. Where is Your God?

There is also a lot of old-school vs. new-school dialog throughout the book. I don’t know the history of Smith Jr. or Whitlock, but I assume there’s a bit of hurt.

I’m watching a 2+ hour seminar by my web-friend Tim Schmoyer on the subject. It’s free and about 20-minutes in I think it’s beneficial –
