NES

11.30.2005 — 4 Comments

Yesterday as I made a hospital visit I noticed a young boy playing Mario on an old-school Nintendo system – brought back MANY memories of both my first NES and playing Mario in the hospital while my sister was sick, too. (My sister, by the way would’ve turned 28 today!)

I also stumbled upon a pretty incredible link today relating to the “good ‘ol” NES system.

If you didn’t have a Nintendo and you didn’t play the game, “Contra” – don’t worry about clicking on this link here. It’s a guy playing Contra and beating it in about 12-minutes. I played this game for WEEKS before I ever got the congratulatory “credits” screen at the end!

Steelers vs. Colts

11.28.2005 — 8 Comments

I’m so confident in our Indianapolis Colts that I’m calling their 11-0 win tonight over the Pittsburgh Steelers HOURS before the game is finished.

Sorry to my Aunt and Uncle and Cousins (Davis’) in New York who pull for the Steelers and sorry to my “brother” Chris Entrot in PA who was quick to call me back after the first-quarter Manning interception. (Sure I had just called him and rubbed in the 10-0 score in the opening quarter…)

Seriously – this is the year of the Colts.

And to my “other brother” Josh Morton – you have always been a Colt-fan way before me and I salute your patience in waiting for a Colt team like this! Thank you for showing me the way to cheer for Indiana-greatness!

For the record, however, Dad reminded me that if by chance it IS our Indianapolis Colts and my Carolina Panthers in the championship game – I will “remember my roots” and cheer for those crazy Carolinians.

Just wanted to make that public.

I took my camera with me on my weekly visit to the nursery this morning after my part in second service.

You’ll enjoy the rest of these photos here.

I also snapped some great photos tonight during our traditional “hanging of the greens” service. Jess read the story to the kids that were present and I got to bring the devotional thought to close out the service.

Pictures of that service are here.

I was sent this video from Uncle David today and had to share it with you all!

It will take a while to download, but it WILL be worth it!
