Thank you Kory for the “dare” to update today.

Today has been absolutely crazy. For those of you who think that a Pastor only works on Sunday, this is one of those days that I WISH it was true!

Not really – I love my job!

A majority of the afternoon was spent in a meeting at the Right-to-Life office and then 4+ hours spent setting up 3 brand new Dell Computers in the church office today! The ladies who received the new computers are going to LOVE them. Flatscreen monitors and all! Makes me want to upgrade!

Accountability tonight was great! Got a call from Canada where Chris Atkins is being visited by Craig Helfrich – it was good to hear from them both!

Thunderstorms are hitting our neighborhood now and the flash coming through the shades is pretty cool.

Jess and I took a Friday night date-night to watch “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” this past week. We caught the matinee to save a couple bux and were entertained thoroughly!

Sure, Hollywood included a LOT of “glorified” violence and stuff, but the movie was an entertaining 2-hours spent with my wife, who laughed along side me as we enjoyed this “surely this couldn’t ever happen”-type movie!

Brad and Angelina are perfect in their roles in this film and their on-film “chemistry” is obviously enough to cause rumors these days of an off-screen chemistry. I’m sure they’re just best-buds, playing Scrabble together from time to time – and that sort of thing.

We stayed around to finish out the credits hoping for a piece of cinematic genius following the last credit, but all we got was the black-screen and typical theater music. Bummer.

Enjoy this movie with your spouse and please forgive my enjoyment of lots of guns and “shooting bad guys”!

BACK 40

6.11.2005 — 2 Comments

Thank you John Bryan and Alyssa (and Bradyn!) for an amazing morning with your family!

Jess and I enjoyed ourselves as we visited and then as JB and I headed to the “BACK 40” – a HUGE sport-clay shooting field!

JB and I started out by hitting the “Wobbler” – a ‘tree-house’-looking setup where we climbed up into and shot at 25 pigeons at a time. My score: 21, his score 10! (sure he KILLED me with a score of 40/60 in the field to my 32/60, but still!)

Honestly, I have never had so much clay-pigeon-shooting fun in my life! Dad – when you come to visit next time we MUST go to the “BACK 40” together!

After a great time in the field, we had a great lunch and some more awe-inspiring watching of 10-day old John Bradyn Lowe!

After we got back to Warsaw, we headed to Jeremy Freeman’s open house and now we are getting ready for a bonfire cookout with the Young Adult Sunday School class!

You can see A BUNCH of pictures from this morning here in my FLICKR photo album.

Here are a few to whet your appetite:
