Day 2

5.21.2005 — Leave a comment

Last night was incredible.

We didn’t get back to Warsaw until after 12.

I was in bed by 12:40AM, but I’m pretty sure I’ve only slept for a few minutes at a time (Mt. Dew, of course was running through my veins most of the day).

So now it’s before 6AM, I’m finishing my cereal and posting to my site.

I leave in a few minutes to pick up Jeremy Freeman and Bill England to drive to Matt VanKirk’s – we’ll leave from there and get back to Ft. Wayne by 8:30AM. Things start again @ 9.

This day should be pretty incredible as well!

Promise Keepers

So I leave in about 30 minutes to drive to Ft. Wayne for tonight’s Promise Keeper’s “THE AWAKENING” conference.

I’m looking forward to some collective (in the thousands, that is) worship over in Ft. Wayne. Tonight’s concert is by the Newsboys – they were pretty hip back when I was a Junior High student, but have lost a little bit of the edge to my 25-year-old tastes. I will enjoy the time away, collective worship, speakers, and time with guys from church.

I’m driving back to Warsaw tonight instead of staying in theWAYNE for the night. It’s only an hour, so might as well save the money that would’ve been spent on a hotel room, right?

I’ll be taking my camera, so be sure to check back for some PK @ PK pictures (Preacher’s Kid @ Promise Keeper’s, ha-ha)…

Sermon: FINISHED!

5.19.2005 — 3 Comments

All 10 half-pages of this “Century Gothic, 10-pt” sermon are finally in a form of completion I only THOUGHT they could find themselves in at this stage!

Entitled, “DARE YOU TO MOVE”, this sermon will be delivered to the kind folks at Warsaw Wesleyan this weekend in two back-to-back services at 9:15AM and 10:45AM.

Being a full-time Youth Pastor, it isn’t often that I get the chance to bring the main message to the entire body on a Sunday morning, so this is once again, quite an honor – and probably only the 10th-or-so time in 3-years that I’ve preached in the Sunday morning services.

We will be studying the Hebrews 12:1-3 “race” metaphor and three main points will be delivered via mouth, and via the wonderful projector and PowerPoint. This is my first sermon to include the “visual”/PowerPoint aspect of learning. I’m not exactly sure why I chose the “visual” for this sermon and not any of my previous ones…

Dearest Mother (and others who complain of the small font size chosen by my design-savvy-wannabe-self),

Please, if you have a PC and a mouse with the “scroller wheel” follow these instructions to make this site (and any other, as a matter fact) have a BIGGER font for your weary eyes:

#1. Find the CTRL key on your keyboard (note: you MUST have a keyboard for this to work)
#2. Push the CTRL key on your keyboard (same note applies)
#3. Scroll the “scroller wheel” on your mouse up/down to suit your fancy.
#4. You’re welcome.

Back in the office

As you can see by the webcam image to your right, I am back in the office this morning, working on a range of things that must be completed by the weekend.

As I got on the web and surfed over to stevansheets.com to check the comments, I noticed this sweet new look to the site – I’m pretty impressed that it looks this good even after a good 8-hours of sleep!

Tomorrow I head to Ft. Wayne in the afternoon for Promise Keepers. I will pick up a saint of the church – Bill England tomorrow and we’ll enjoy the drive together and the “saving of seats” for others who won’t be able to leave until later! My buddy Kirkage, Chad Stiver, and some other guys will also be joining us after they are able to get there! I haven’t been to a Promise Keepers conference since I was in High School!
