Archives For April 2005

I can’t wait for this to be released! LINK. Surely it will be the greatest Summer release (besides Star Wars, of course).

I read that Tim Burton, director, actually trained squirrels to do the “nut cracking” scene in the movie – apparently you have to read the book to understand that scene, but this should be VERY interesting!

Seeing Depp in “Finding Neverland” last week reminded me that this movie is on its way to our viewing pleasure…

I also read that Burton spared NO expense in the making of this movie – he developed a real-life 80-foot chocolate waterfall, too!

Gas Prices

4.5.2005 — 4 Comments

Gas prices are RIDICULOUS!

But…

Compared with gasoline:
Diet Snapple 16oz. $1.29 – $10.32/gallon
Lipton Ice Tea 16oz. $1.19 – $9.52/gallon
Gatorade 20oz. $1.59 – $10.17/gallon
Ocean Spray 16oz. $1.25 – $10.25/gallon
Brake Fluid 12oz. $3.15 – $33.60/gallon
Vick’s Nyquil 6oz. $8.35 – $178.13/gallon
Pepto-Bismol 4oz. $3.85 – $123.20/gallon
White-Out 7oz. $1.39 – $25.42/gallon
Scope 1.5oz. $.99 – $84.48/gallon
Evian Water 9oz. $1.49 – $21.19/gallon

So, the next time we’re pumping gas, let us remember to be thankful that we don’t have cars that run on Pepto or Nyquil!

(in other money-saving news, this Sheets family owns 5-more Oral B electric toothbrushes!)

So I found out that Wallgreen’s has the Oral-B Power Toothbrush on sale for $5 this week. They also have a special $5 off coupon available in their weekly coupon-flyer!

So, Jess and I now own 4 Oral-B Power Toothbrushes! I paid all of $.30 for each of them!

I never thought I’d own a powered toothbrush – I’ll let you know what I think eventually!

The poor manager and cashier didn’t know what to do when they were practically GIVING me four $6+ toothbrushes! They had to check and double-check to make sure they could do that! Jeremy and I had a great laugh after walking out with four free toothbrushes!

My mom would be (and should be) proud! When we were kids we found a similar deal on Cherry 7-Up at our local Wegman’s Supermarket! The entire week we traveled to any and ALL Wegman’s to pick up “better-than-free” Cherry 7-Up 2-liters!

I got sick of Cherry 7-Up, and actually can’t stand the stuff to this day! I’m sure we picked up atleast a hundred 2-liters during that week! The bottle actually had a coupon on the label, so we would go in shifts – some would go in and get the bottles, get paid for “buying them” (like $.20 or something) and then bring them out to those of us who stayed in the van and did the “work” of cutting off the labels and sending the other “crew” back in! My mom is a genius!

Nice, huh?
