Somehow I managed to turn to the Discovery Channel this morning before 10AM and found a Myth Busters marathon!

What could be better than 5-or-6 1-hour episodes of Myth Busters?

It was incredible! I couldn’t have been more excited about what to watch on a lazy Saturday morning and afternoon!

Jess has gone grocery shopping after I did another snow-shovel clearing of the driveway and sidewalk! Hurray for MORE SNOW!

Robots (PG) was an enjoyable experience at the local Warsaw theater last evening.

Of course the theater was full of children and families, but “child-noises” aside, we enjoyed our experience very much!

Like most of the latest animated feature-films, there is enough humor for both children and adults to make this movie enjoyable by multiple generations.

But, with that “humor” for multi-generations, there are SOME things that children may not “get”, but COULD cause “questions” and even cause what I believe is Hollywood’s agenda – over-saturation of inuendo – causing a younger-and-younger generation of “in-the-know” children.

Inuendo #1: the bathroom signs in “ROBOT LAND” were of an electrical outlet for “women’s” and a plug for “men’s”. (a humorous chuckle for two 25-year-olds, but surely a curious thing for the 1st and 2nd graders in front of us)

Inuendo #2: Robin William’s character ‘changes parts’ and ends up wearing a skirt and warns those below him in a scene to “watch where they put their hands”.

Along with numerous other inappropriate-for-children scenes make me once again cringe at what Hollywood is marketing as a children’s film.

In my opinion, parents should be VERY discerning with what they allow their children to be exposed to! On the other hand, those parents who “shelter” their children from all things “culture” are possibly doing the same, if not MORE harm!

My suggestion: if you do expose your children to ‘inuendo’ like what we saw in Robots and those ‘inuendos’ don’t go over your child’s head like what probably happens in most situations – TALK! Answer questions. Communicate. Do what is OPPOSITE of what seems to currently be happening in our culture-driven society!

Garden State (R) was a not-so-pleasant rent last night. Even at $4.75 for the rent of this DVD at Blockbuster, it was honestly a waste of that hard-earned $4.75.

The entire 109 minutes of the movie is littered with more than 75 f- and s-words! Unbelievable.

The movie’s plot was VERY lacking and left us thinking that the writer and directors decided to make a movie based on swearing and drug use only.

The “good”? The plot DID allow for the idea that “love” can be found by anyone – no matter how “messed up” your life is. However, this “love” was typical “Hollywood” love.

Definitely would NOT recommend this movie to anyone.

The weekend is finally here (again).

Plans for this weekend: none.

Resting at home, maybe take my wife to a movie?

That sounds nice.

Yes, I think I’ll do that.

What better way for me to “escape reality” than to do about a dozen loads of laundry, vacuum the house, clean the bathroom, and dust wherever I could.

I spent over 4.5 hours “cleaning house” today – and felt good about it!

It is snowing like C-R-A-Z-Y right now – maybe that 4-footer I’ve been praying for could REALLY happen?!

I wish.
