MOVIE REVIEW: “The Incredibles”

Disney and Pixar’s “The Incredibles” was absolutely a fantastic movie. Jess and I knew that we would need to own it and I decided to pick it up at WalMart this week. We finally had a chance to sit and watch the nearly 2-hour animated flick tonight and enjoyed every second. Pixar is just absolutely incredible.

While Jess took a “nap” after watching the movie, I clicked through the second disc and have to say WOW. There’s SO MUCH on this second disc that I didn’t get to see everything before doing a little “Easter Egg” research.

More on those later.

I loved this movie for a couple of reasons: Family wins. Bad guys don’t get “hurt” – they’re obliterated! And once again, the animation has stepped up MANY levels. I’d love to watch something like Toy Story and The Incredibles on two televisions next to each other to see just how different the animation technology is these days.

Okay – Easter Eggs are something that are found on DVDs. Apparently whoever makes these DVDs doesn’t think there’s enough “good stuff” on them, so they have to add “hidden stuff”.

I typed in “The Incredibles Easter Egg” into Google and found some pretty awesome things. My favorite “Easter Egg” was a video clip of someone riding a scooter at Pixar and getting beaned by a giant red ball – causing him to fly off of the scooter. From what I can tell it’s a real prank – and a good one! Wanna see it? Put the second disc in and go to the index menu. On the second page of the index menu wait for an “Omnidroid” icon to appear in the top-right corner. Push “UP” on the remote and then “ENTER” to see the clip.
