Archives For February 2005

“Hitch” (PG-13) served as an entertaining movie on our President’s Day get-together with Kory Pence and Chris Magee. Jess and I had the privilege of watching it in Indianapolis at the wonderful United Artists theater in Castleton.

While the movie WAS entertaining, there were of course numerous negatives that surround any Hollywood release! From pluggedinonline.com I found out that there were numerous profanities that I didn’t even remember hearing! These included an f-word and a couple of s-words. God’s name is misused at least a dozen times (once with “d–n”); Jesus’ name gets tossed around twice. Around 20 other milder profanities (including “a–hole”).

Kinda makes me re-think the term “entertaining” when my Lord’s name is used in vain atleast a dozen times…

The movie is NOT a clear representation of what “dating should be” by any means. It seems like Hollywood has once again given us the example of “most” dates and dating attempts being attempts at making it to the bedroom.

That ticks me off.

Kevin James (from King of Queens) and Will Smith are absolutely terrific together! Their on-screen antics made me think that this isn’t the last movie we will see with the two of them sharing screen-time.

Watch it discerningly – if you watch it at all.

it’s late

It’s late.
This update is long overdue, and for those of you who can’t handle peering into the lives that are stevansheets.com, I’m truly sorry.

This has been quite the weekend.

Not a lot to tell, except that an all-nighter at an elementary school is quite the undertaking. It was a good time.

Saturday was “sleep” day – making up for staying up all night with a couple-hundred 4, 5, and 6th graders.

Sunday was a great day. Talked to Sherilyn in the afternoon and enjoyed both the AM worship time and the PM worship – where Pastor Scott is leading a series on The Lord of the Rings movies! Pretty interesting.

Today Jess and I were both off of work, so we headed out of town for the day – a much needed “break” in our crazy lives. We first headed to Marion where I needed to be at a Senior High Camp meeting at JC Bodyshop. Afterwards, lunch and then back on the road. We arrived in Indianapolis after 2PM and enjoyed the afternoon and evening with our friends Kory Pence and Chris Magee.

I missed those guys.

Kory treated Stevan and Jess to a movie: “Hitch”, and dinner at PF Changs! I’m telling you what – that guy and that business he runs (underfiresolutions.com) are pretty incredible!

It’s now about 5-till midnight and I’m honestly more tired than I’ve been in a long time!

I’m looking forward to getting back into the office tomorrow!

on my to-do list today was “get film developed”.

I did just that.

Here are some of my favorites:

my favorite part of this photo is the Warsaw fan celebrating this dunk by the other team!

Tred Barta

“The Best & Worst of Tred Barta” is my favorite show on the Outdoor Life Network.

This guy makes his own arrows for his long bow and hunts only with his bow. He doesn’t have sophisticated equipment to hunt with, just a long bow and homemade arrows. Amazing. Today he was hunting some deer in Colorado with his son, “Hunter”. Perfect name for a hunting-show host’s son.

Got a free iTunes code from my Aunt Judy today! Thanks Aunt Judy!! (total iTunes codes: 3)

Also – I read through the comments on the webcam post and I think it’s hilarious that some of you don’t believe that the webcam is real. It truly is a real-thing. For those of you who are at a computer all day long at work, you can now check in on what Stevan Sheets is really up to at his desk in his office at Warsaw Wesleyan!

Obviously, today is Thursday, so I’m not there!

Tomorrow night should be interesting – I’ve been volunteered (by my lovely wife) to help out at the Harrison Elementary all-nighter! That’s right – an elementary school all-nighter!

Wish us luck!
